Not sure if anyone has done this yet. Dogs always seem to create conversations. My dog is 1/2 ridgeback, 1/4 great dane and 1/4 greman shepard his name is grimly. He is very big and thinks he is a lap dog. I think we should start a club that fights for the rights of dogs, so that when you are looking for a place to live you know your dog is aloud to live there no hastles. Cause a my dog is just as much a family member as my mom or brother. So long live the dog and down with the oppressor. Anyways if you have a dog tell us about him/her and lets be friends.

I think that it would be great if more landlords were open to accepting pets. I had a purebred coonhound named Anna that I had to give away because when I moved, I couldnt take her with us. Broke my sons heart it did.

I can also understand why the owners dont like animals. If someone that doesnt take care of them right is renting from them, their property can be damaged.

In Ontario a landlord can't discriminate against you for having a pet. They can say "no pets allowed" but they can't do anything unless your animal is a menace. I think it's fair.

Gotta love them doggies!
I've got two and they think they're human.
I have an age old adage I go by and it's "Love me, love my dog".
My pooches are family to me as you said and family comes with, no matter where we go.

I want to get a dog when I move to the NYC area. I am thinking about getting a miniature poodle and naming him "Fang". I'll tell people, "Watch out, I have a dog named Fang back at the house". When they see that Fang is only a harmless poodle, I just want to see their reactions!!

Don't own any dogs at the moment, but when i was a teen I had two dogs. A samoyed named bubba and a beagle mixed named Fred...strangest thing about them two was their names....they were both females. But they were my buddies and i still miss them at times.

No pets where I'm at even tho it's stated on the paperwork "No dogs"
We had a german sheppard named Rex when I was a kid you couldn't keep tied up. It didn't matter how big a chain used, he would snap it. Collars, choke chains and even halters he would slip out of. When we brought him into the house, he was a good dog. You could lay a baby on the floor, he would go over and lay next to it.

As the offspring of a former Humane Society director, I'll spit my two seconds.

Odds are good that landlords and folks in general would be more accepting if owners were more responsible.

Stereotypically, you don't take time to train the dog, it's a bad dog and they're disposable. Don't have room for them or they're not allowed, they're disposable. They trash the place for lack of training, dog gets beat, disposable, and upon leaving the place is left in shambles. Or they're left to roam and aggravate the neighborhood and owner doesn't give a flip.

Fight for rights, but enforce more harsh penalties for careless, reckless owners that haphazardly get that "cute little puppy" out of boredom or without thought to the responsibility involved.

Yup, I'm done.

I agree 100%. Getting a pet is a serious responsibility, and a well-trained dog is an excellent companion.

Yes Dogs are great. I like Labrador dogs the best.

It's so hard keeping them in the city, there's no real place they can run. We do have dog park Sundays in the AM but even the Dogs feel like they are living a penned up life.

I look forward to living out of the city and being able to keep dogs in a kind and freer way.

Here, here, "long live the dog"

My roommates dog is Jazzy, part jack russell part terrier. I never would have wanted a dog until I had this one. It is very well trained. The landlord replaced the carpet before me because of a dog that was not well taken care of. If you love your dog, then take care of the damn thing!

I have the best pup ever!! He is an English Hound named Stryder Barrett!! He is the best, I rescued him from the pound and he's my best bud!! He snuggles up with me at night, I wouldn't trade him for the world! Well, I'd trade him in for someone very special, but hopefully he loves my hound as much as I do!! He's an excellent guard doggy!!
