I know where he lives, which part of the country but having no surname I don't know where to start. Is there a possbility that anyone out there could give me some serious tips on finding someone?

If you do a yahoo search for the area you'll probably come across the local phone company, search the address from there
All well and good doing a Yahoo/Google search, but if you don't have a surname then you are gonna have a hard time finding them.
I'm assuming that you have his email but he's not replying...... I think you should give this up as a lost cause, it just ain't gona happen.........

yes, get on a plane and go see them 
If you have his picture you could contact the FBI or CIA and say you suspect he's a terrorist and maybe they'd find him for you! 
or.............. contact a milk company and get his pic on milk cartons as a 'missing person'............. or contact the Salvation Army - they can be helpful
or........contact the local radio station - they often help people find each other!
