Hummmmm...
So far I've been in education, childcare as a mom, raised pure bred dogs and owned a kennel, sold books on Ebay, and countless other little jobs....now an organic farmer and chicken herder LOL
I think I want to be a beach bum next!

My entire life I wanted to be an attorney.
Instead, I went from piano teacher to pool table sales to getting my Series 7 to be a broker, to a scavenger for eBay inventory.

I stopped growing up when I hit 5'1" :D
As to doing what I wanted, I did for a while. When I was a kid, I had a ride in a helicopter and that was what I wanted to do when I was older. I joined the Coast Guard to be an aircraft mech and fly, even if it meant sitting in the back. There were times when I would be in the co-pilot seat and get some stick time.
When they cut my re-enlistment bonus to zero, I figured I wasn't important enough to keep. Without an airframe/powerplant license I was unable to get jobs working on aircraft. I had the time but needed the class time to get the license. Before I left Brooklyn, we tried getting an instructor for the class time but couldn't get enough people interested to make it worthwhile.
By the time I even considered going to school for the license, I was married with kids and I couldn't afford to quit working for almost 2 years.
