jolemonusBarberton, Ohio USA6 Threads 36 PostsOkay here's the deal. I've been on dating site before and I've send people message. Always polite introductory messages (to get the ball rolling so to speak), and I don't get a reply. Now here's where it gets rude. These sites show you when you're messages are read. I check to see if they are. And I even say "please message me back one way or the other". AND Still no reply. In fact when I confronted someone on it. I got chewed out and called names for simply wanting a simple reply. So again I ask why are people so rude.

Some people get a lot of dodgy mail here mate.....you should hang round the forums and get to know a few peeps.....that way...they can see another side to you,.......
People arent obliged to message back ya know....if only eh?? We`d have dates comin out of our ears....

Some just dont mate....i wouldnt take it personally......they might not have time to message back....or they may think its not worth mailing back just to tell someone thanks but no thanks.....and hope the hint is taken...i dont know....just have a mooch round here.....you`ll be surprised how many nice people you`ll meet....

perhaps they are not being rude... perhaps that is their way of saying, "get lost" in a polite way. Question though do you read the profiles or do you just look at pics? I just had an 18 year old send me a flower and an email. First of all, that told me that he did not read my profile and was rude to me by sending me a flower and an email. I'm old enough to be his mom. Perhaps you should not take it so personally and just move on. JMO

Hi Jolemonus, you brought up a tough issue. I used to answer, even to say "thank-you" every email I got. However, unfortunatelly, we are not attracted to and by everybody ... not only that, there're other things. In my case, for instance, I do hate smoking, then if I see that the person smokes there are few chances that I'll be even friend of them. Back to the point, when you answer back, is like "opening the door" to the other person and then, it becomes so difficult to explain that you won't write any more. It's really difficult. I don't know what the medium line is...

I really do read them. I want a real relationship. I very much so truly do. And I haven't had the problem here. I'm actually refering to another dating site.

I always reply to emails or flowers, but sometimes when you make it clear you are not interested, they continue to contact you. It is tempting to delete and not respond...

I wouldn't take too personally. I don't always get a response either. I sent one to a person here Aug. 6th and they have yet to even open it let alone respond even though they are active on the site.
Besides, if they're giving you the silent treatment now....imagine what it would be like after 10 years!

This is a secret, pliz, don't tell anybody. I've NEVER received a reply to the few ones I sent an "I like you" message. Actually, I stoped sending messages. It was frustrating, that's why I LOVE this site, because I enjoy the other things: the forums and the pic contest. so, you are not alone, my dear
