This probably seems strange (and to most, that would not be a revelation), but I've always had a hard time with watching comedies by myself. In some strange way, for me the laughter always needs to be shared.
Of course, there are exceptions. It's not a movie, but Family Guy often has me laughing pretty damn hard...

When I'm feeling down, I always pop in the first Rocky movie. I love the underdog theme, and it motivates me to feel better!
Or, if I just need a good laugh, I'll watch "Airplane" or CHeech and Chong's "Up In Smoke" Just some mindless laughs!
