I never drink when i am driving...If i want to go out and have fun then one of my friends takes his car and he doesn't drink. No way i could risk my life and the other's lives also for a night of fun.

I am a perpetual (nearly had trouble with that word and I'm sober) joker

I'll probably die laughing at vone of my own stupid jokes

Yes:: drinking and driving is a good thing to do but a sense of humour will
get you through any situation

ask the ex military people on here whether laughing stops you going crazy

the last time I saw my father was a short while before he died of stomach cancer
and I hadn't seen him for twelve years

He didn't ask me where I'd been for so long
He didn't moan that I hadn't written or phoned
He said ( hold on a mo I'm having trouble seeing through the tears)

PLEASE
hug cheers

Yeah, I kinda agree with Oslo on this one. I lost one of my best friends and roommate when he got smacked by a drunk driver who ran a red light. I'm just not really willing to laugh about it. Plus, I work at an establishment that serves alcohol, and I've seen so many lives ruined by drinking and driving.

but, the original comment made me laugh, as a joke. Maybe I am being a stick in the mud (which I try to never be), but I just cannot laugh at the idea of drinking and driving and putting people's lives in danger because of some drunk person's selfishness.

Ok, Off my soap box. Carry on.beer

I was walking home last night when I noticed an old drunk staggering along the road. He passed a woman who was walking a young child. "Lady", said the drunk, "that's the ugliest kid I've ever seen. Damn, that is one ugly child!." As the drunk wandered off, the lady burst into tears. Just then, a mailman came to her rescue. "What's the matter, madam?" he asked. "I've just been horribly insulted" she sobbed. "There there," said the mailman, reaching into his pocket. "Dry your eyes with this tissue, and here's a banana for the chimp"

You people need to go back and read before you take sides. I never said that drinking and driving is good.

I merely said I could laugh at my own mistakes.

I think some people have the reading comprehension of a snail.

cheers

One thing some people in this thread need to realize...NO ONE,,is advocating drink driving...

But I do remember a time it WASNT an offence....

And your horse knew its way home.....

and like it or not back in those days some funny stories did happen...

a case of another time and era....

and people just not understanding that....cheers

that is a funny story and reminds me of one that a former CS member shared about getting stuck in the doggy dog at her place when she forgot her keys ...... paramedics/firemen I think came to her rescue! lol

I think the point of the thread was to simply find some humor from instances in our lifes and was in no way promoting the idea that "drinking and driving" was appropriate - but the truth is that many of us have in the past done this and many of us still continue to do it despite what we know can happen. Some of us get it and some of us don't and consequences happen everyday. Let us just be thankful that we have survived some of our more stupidier moments.

He said,"Hello son,the new diet plan worked."

kind of put a different perspective on laughing at laughing at death

so I'll laugh at what I want
I'll cry at what I want

I won't climb down for anybody
so if you don't like my humour don't read my threads

let's all just try
to be nice to each other
it's not that hard
