I think enduring love has to have trust alongside it, but deep abiding trust is something that is earned as openness and communication develop in a relationship.
I think in the beginning we fall in love with the idea of who the person is, for me falling in love is a mixture of infatuation, attraction and the seeds of real love. The seeds blossom as our knowledge of the person develops.
That is how it works for me, anyway.

for the most part, I would have to agree. But I believe you can be totally in love with a person, but not commit to them because you don't trust them.........JMO

I'm not sure, rwantin, I'm thinking maybe there could be some love, but, without trust, I surely would not allow it to develop into a "relationship" ....

My thoughts, I believe if you don't trust someone you are with, you can't love them as much as you could if you had that trust. I think that all the things that love mean in a relationship has ties to each thing, communication, trust, honesty, respect. It takes alot to make a love relationship work. If something is lacking, then its not love.......
Lust comes to my mind in most cases, is love and lust so close together that they are mixed within the heart were one can't tell which is which?
