politics or dating? ( Archived) (40)

Let me say that I am one of the biggest offenders!! But my question is why does politics come up so much on the threads, when we are all here (well, mostly), looking foe life partners??

There`s a lot of politics to dating.

But can't the real politics wait till you get to know each other better?

Because we wouldn't want Republicans dating Democrats now would we!!!!!!!!

What a mess!!!!!!!!!!

Thank God I'm Canadian!!!!!!!!!!!

Coz its more interesting to talk about it........

Makes us forget our own needs..........

Gives us an opportunity to criticise or appreciate others.....

......and everyone reads/hears news so it provides common ground for "fighting".

Yeah just like in a real relationship!!!!!!!!

Ship......I'm not so sure it's odd.....People who are compatible with each other may have to live with these differences of political opinions, so maybe it's good to learn how to discuss both sides and do it respectfully now, before we meet?

Others may find that they, in no way, can live with a person who has different political beliefs...so, then it becomes a weeding out process.

THEN, there are those we learn about, via their comments and opinions regarding politics...OR someone elses opinions, and we see Red Flags, so stay away from attempting to establish a closer relationship.

Again I say, Bless these Forums and Blogs...they are sure teaching me something about "people". It's never too late to learn....sad, sometimes, but not too late.

Because politics or rather the people controlling the destiny of others are a common concern no matter where you live and what you do. I consider myself a patriot. Mark Twain defined patriotism as supporting your country all the time and your government when it deserves it. I see a lot of undeserving governments out there these days and I would rather have politics be brought up at an unconventional venue then for it not to be brought up at all.
