I went to see it with one of my sons. No offense, but I found it about as interesting as watching someone play video games. Maybe I missed something though....

I must admit that I haven't seen the movie, although I intend to. But I wanted to recommend an excellent book about the battle of Thermopylae. Read Steven Pressfield's "Gates of Fire". It's simply brilliant.
From Herodotus:
"Although extraordinary valour was displayed by the entire corps of Spartans and Thespians, yet bravest of all was declared the Spartan Dienekes. It is said that on the eve of battle, he was told by a native of Trachis that the Persian archers were so numerous that, when they fired their volleys,the mass of arrows blocked out the sun. Dienekes, however, quite undaunted by this prospect, remarked with a laugh, 'Good. Then we'll have our battle in the shade'."

I liked it. I thought it greatly illustrated how the Spartas were a military society. I like when the Athenins were asked what they did for a lving and one said he was a sculptur then the Spartans said that they brought more soldiers.

Hey, completely awesome movie!
That being said, I liked the first one better. Yeah, the one that they made the remake off of. I think this one would have been better if they concentrated on the fighting in the pass, and less on the politics at home. Jmo

300 was my favorite movie last year. I liked it even better than the Borne Ultimatum, and American Gangster. I just have a thing for stories of those willing to lay down their lives to save others...

Not bad...the Graphics were good to excellent.
The quotes used are historically correct, but the depictions of Cyrus was just bad; horrible; no justification for that schlock. The truth is enough. The original Hollywood version, The 300 Spartans had some good moments in it; also more accurate...ie. the Persians had no elephants there!! Maybe they were thinking of Hannibal invading Italy...

I enjoyed it very much, even bought the dvd.
