the truth? when working with food it is MORE SANITARY to work WITHOUT gloves...the gloves create a barrier to your hands...therefore you cannot feel just how dirty they are. the natural tendency is to wash your hands WAY less, since they still feel the same. cross-contamination studies have shown that the rates are higher with gloves. however, it makes consumers feel better....
seen a few of them. been around awhile its called a "Kick Plate" originally designed to keep hands free when entering a room or building. Now many are automated, using sensors and such.
Maybe we need to Thank the Phyiscally Impaired for bringing us the hands free entrance technology.

Can't say I've seen them yet in Canada. I just use my sleeve or the paper towel to open that nasty door. I agree that whoever invented it should get an award! Disabled Community's implementation or not.
I sometimes use the papertowel thing too. sense more and more of us okies are doing that. But what I dont get is ...ok your hand are "dirty" when you touch the sinks handle to turn the water on. Then after you wash your hands clean, you touch the same ((now dirty)) handle to turn the water off.... kinda sad if you think about it
I'm the other way around. I can talk but I can't type. Sorry to hear you've been a little under the weather, hope your well soon. I'm good thanks still back at work for another 3 days. Better stay on topic, Gotta go wash my hands, TC T. J.
I agree that you need to wash your hands after going no matter what with soap and warm or (I prefer hot) water. I worked with people that never washed their hands after going to the washroom. I was appalled.
