A child is buil by his/her parents, not by money, but by love, positive imprinting ...
love can exist without money...
and before you say the child needs moeny to attend college etc .. wll my good man, a child with a developed sense of self worth and love can accomplish a great deal on his/her own. Some of the most successful (finacially) people come from poor homes but raised on these elements.
Also i dont deny that that poor cleaner could use a few bucks to ease her concern for her childs next meal or clothing, but still ...love .. positive imprinting will bouy that child for life.
So very, very true, spoken like a true old fashioned member of the Hospitalers, The Knights Templar, the Knights of St. Mary,(the Teutonic Knights) and so many others that were at one time filled with that spirit, now only rarely found but in cloisters and even fewer lay organizations. As a society that transcends 2 worlds...the old Christian West of Europe and the US "wild west" in toto we have lost it; it hangs on barely to places that we would expect; to even fewer people than there are "social pillars of importance" who seem determined to stamp it out because it is as those types dictate, "out of fashion" and goes against the virtues of a disposable society; of things and of people; of morality, of Love for our fellow Human, be they rich or poor, young or old. We have become residents of an artificial world that builds itself on the most vainglorious of all our irresponsible attributes: Greed; greed for more of everything that we can accumulate. We can accumulate many things except one tiny little thing...Love, but to accurately describe it, I can't; many posts on the kinds of Love, but it is beyond me and yet, I know we would all recognize it; all feel it if it suddenly came to us in whatever circumstances that called for it...perhaps to simply clasp another Human and say thank you for being alive ; to remind me how much we really should help one another....I don't know...trying to put into words those of the mystics like St. Thomas Aquinas or St. Bernard of Clairvaux or any of the Sufi Muslim Mystics is impossible it seems...but a very special type of Love unites us all and it is ..."misplaced" somewhere... Well said Detente!
I am realizing that as I get older. Now I do my best to go beyond my normal means or as some would say “A quantum leap” based on goals. As far as I can tell, it’s not too late to jump the wire.
Life is simple for few born with Golden spoons and silver cradles .. ermm.. even they have problems well.. of a different kind.
What makes us "US ". Our parents , society , culture , environment or our inbuilt potential ??? Is there ever a simple answer to the development of the complex human mind ?
NO !!! Cos as complex as we are , its multitude of factors which make us a responsible adult , social figure and human being. No single factor is the sole inflictor.
I agree children need to be nurtured with warmth to help them realise their true essence. Not all of them land up not achieving. But talking about the common people not exceptions , we need a happy family environment for a sound foundation in formative years. Thats when the primitive thought and reasoning processes are working their way so easy to damage than to heal.
Am a strong believer that a good childhood takes the adult a long way. Good in terms of loving nurturing with compassion and attention .
Frankly , no one would speak entirely where the shoe bites. As adults if we have a heart that really feels , its a victory over all that went wrong anywhere.
Hard to go thro , harder to forget .. times in life full of regret. But if you stil have the will to lend a shoulder or offer a hand .. IMO .. the battle is won already !!
