i was wanting to know why it seems bad to some people for one parent to raise a child. i am a widowed lady 49 years old. and i just cannot understand whysome folks feel it is wrong
I'm a single parent and I don't think it's bad...I think today it's the norm...Who cares what other people think...As long as you know you're a good parent...P on everyone else!!!!!!!!
I completely agree. I am a single parent and my daughter and I have a great relationship, now at least, she is only 11. lol. I personally stopped carrying what other people thought of me along time ago. It is not worth the head ache or the heart ache. If you think you are doing a good job raising your children and they are not juvinile deliquents, then so be it.
Not that I can really have a point of view as I haven't had anyone look down on me for being a single parent. I really dont care what people think, I'm sure people aren't out there worrying about what I think.
I am /was a single parent ...and my children have both a, Happy mother and father ..so the best of both worlds for all those involved ...Never was much on stero-types.
I am a single parent, always have been ,by choice, her father wasn't around and rearely is. I don't care what people think about it,no difference one or two parents as long as there's love.

if a person is a widow/widower and the child was born when both parents were alive then it aint wrong
I'm a single mother and have always firmly believed that my son would have been much better off with 2 parents.
I can be a good parent all day long, but the fact is, while I was out earning the money, my child was being raised by strangers, learning their belief system, witnessing their values, living by their standards.
I chose "No father instead of a bad father." My sister took the opposite route and chose "An inadequate father over no father." Overall, her kids turned out better than mine.

It doesn't matter who raises a child be mother father grandparents guardian or siblings. As long as the child has food on the table shelter and has clothes on its back. And most of all love and understanding
