Sometimes,but not always,unless the contracter is sub-conmtracting the job the scaffold is usually prepared otherwise we build the scaffold as we go up the wall.We always build two stories ahead though,which means if we're laying bricks on the 6th floor then we have the scaffold ready up to the 8th,etc,until we get up to the top.Then you have hydraulic scaffolds,swing stages,sky-tracks...etc.

I forgot to mention,don't forget to use banana clips,make sure your planks are at least six inches over the edge on each side,don't overload your planks with materials,always work on a minimum of two planks unless you're really stuck and having to work on one plank,if you're building higher than nine feet,make sure you brace your wall so the scaffold doesn't move, and always use guardrails.When moving your planks around use your feet and not your hands.Lastly,if you're a beginner in building scaffolds,whatever floor you are working on,always put a couple of planks on the floor below from where you are working, that way,if you happen to fall or if you're planks break,you'll fall on the planks on the floor beneathe you which is better than falling all the way to the bottom,especially if you're working say on the 5 th floor,its better to hit planks on the fourth floor than to fall all the way down 5 stories.

SAFETY FIRST.

cheers

~~~ "and always use guardrails"~~~
In that job, yep!
In life, people tend to put up too many of them.
Ahhh, the fun side paths that are missed!
And new friends are unable to get in, too.
Hence, it is more difficult for "finding the love" than to climb the mountain.
