Age vs. Maturity: Differences between men and women ( Archived) (39)

Jan 9, 2008 9:27 AM CST Age vs. Maturity: Differences between men and women
A person's profile can be such an interesting sketch of who a person really is. I find so many of them to be just fascinating. And others, down right hysterical.

One thing bewilders me at times. Do women not know that they mature at a different rate than men? I know most women want a man as close to their age as possible. They hope this will mean they will have more in common. It should increase the chance they will share whatever phase of life in which they find themselves to be. But if they are hoping to find a man the same age and with the same maturity level, then I feel sorry for them. You will usually have to choose between the chance for common taste for music, fashion, recreation, or common maturity level.

Now I know this will sound like a old guy trying to appeal to younger ladies (and maybe it is), but I am going to put it out there anyway.

Ladies, guys mature much slower than you do. You need to accept it. Stop complaining about it. It has been true through all the ages, and nothing can be done to change it. I do feel sorry for a girl who wants to date an 18 yr old guy, because I used to be an 18 yr old guy. I remember what I was like. I see what they are still like. It is sad. And I hate to admit this, but guys are not that bright. confused Just like ladies are not that sane. LOL very mad Getting off the subject.

Ladies, you are going to have to deal with guys not being able to catch up to your level of maturity, or date someone older. I am sorry.

Are there exceptions out there? Of course there are. I bet there were about 3 or 4 mature guys in your whole high school. rolling on the floor laughing

Let me know what you think.

I think the maturity difference lessens with age, however...and it's too much of a generalization to be worth a heckuva lot, imho...

I agree.

Maturity levels even out in the thirties upwards so a 46 year old woman like me should be able to choose a younger man in his thirties if she wishes, just like men who prefer younger women. There is no difference whatsoever.

Having said that, I do prefer older men.

I think you are right Ambrose - the first time I was arrracted to somebody younger it was a bit of a novelty - nowadays, age simply doesnt come into it - unless of course, they are somewhere around the ages of my children laugh

Thats some observation !!!

But , well personally , I agree !!!

Would prefer to be with someone older to me than same age or younger ...

Cos another reason being i am quite stable for my own age .. so the maturity level for age kinda criteria get worsend .. dunno

BUt having a youthful perspective - a young mind, retaining a child-like joy in things - doesn't equate to being immature...does it?
