When I was in my lateteens I ended up in situation where I was homeless. It was winter and I hitched(as back in thse days common to do) 1 place to another, hoping to find a job.I was in the Southwest at the time, smaller towns.I was very fortunate to meet some kind people ,a trucker gave me a ride, some cash and bought me a mel, expected nothing in return,a family let me spend a night.I slept in a junk car 1 nite freezing, andunder bridges, washed in gas station or mall bathrooms.NoI never want to go back. However I had many experiences that remember fondly and learned much I carried with me through the years.I thank GOD I was not hurt in any way,no truckers tried anyhing, they were/are good people. That experience taught me part of why I am know blessed, with heat and aroof wherever I am.
Yes I learned to have faith in people. You don't appreciate what you have till it's gone.Ithink alot of us in here know that 1st hand. How re you?look dressed up all frilly.Take care Eupho good to see you.
Having travelled extensively with my work I've encountered many situations where I've been without.....well practically everything you can imagine that I thought I needed to survive. After a few hours or sometimes longer (if it's more serious like a prolonged lack of electricity or water), of total panic, everything kind of relaxes and gets into proportion (especially when you realise you aren't going to die!), Adjustments are made, other hobbies or avenues of communication are pursued and life goes on.
Hate not being able to use my ghd hair straighteners though!
In response to: grrrrr yanno I LENT mine to one of my friends.. (everyone kept borrowing them from me)..
ghd's are NEVER to be out of your sight!!!!!! Guard them with your life, mine go everywhere with me.....and I have a spare pair still boxed just in case.
I remember as a kid my mom heating water on a wood stove and then pouring into a washtub so my sisters and I could take a bath. We grew up on a farm and alot of times we made do without alot of things, electricity being one of them. Outhouses suck in the winter. I've also taken the kids on a 3 week camping trip out in the woods. When we wanted to get clean we headed to the river with a bar of soap. Had to make sure they didn't life was always cushy.
