as an agency worker I often work with young people and families who either have asbos or are in danger of an order being placed on them, they could also be in danger of loosing their homes because of anti-social behaviours.

but is the inteventionist approach the best way forward for these families ?

Initially yes...it has to be.

Ultimately, education is the key but the cycle has been broken. So it's back to basics and providing guidance and direction for errant parents.

Or is it?dunno

I suppose my fear is that we dont know when to encourage families to then try it alone and put our theories to the test.

How anti social does some one have to be
to lose their home?
I would say they would have to push it to
the limit and beyond.
Sometimes intervention is the only way,
especially for the unfortunate people
around them.
