Lass, my father had it done in October. He has macular degeneration and the surgery was simply to bring in a bit more light.

My dad is legally blind, Lass. I see what he goes through. He went from seeing to bling in less than a year. He recently went through a VA rehab program to teach him to live without his sight and we learned many useful things to help him. However, he is still blind.

Honey, you don't want to go through what my dad is going through. It breaks my heart to see him struggle with his blindness, though he handles it with unbelieveable grace and dignity. Please know that all will be well and have the surgery. Actually, from what I've understood, the laser is better than a doctors hands because it is more exact.

Your Dad sounds like a wonderful person, you must be very proud of him.

I know cataracts isn't (aren't?) as bad as macular degeneration, I hope I can be half as brave as your Dad. hug

Thank you, Lass. He is. The point is, I guess, he didn't have a choice. He's had so many shots in his eyes to try to slow the progression, but he still went blind in a short amount of time.

Sweetie, you have a choice, and you are making the right one. I'm proud of you, Anne. hug

It'll be alright.
