slim1977my heart will always be in, Tennessee USA16 Threads 943 Postsso was thinking today how people make marriges work? my parrents have been married for 37 years and my mom was the first woman that my dad dated. I have one brother and one sister for some reason unknown to us we all married the first person we dated. now all devorced. well I am in the process. anyways how did it work for them and not any of us. just thinking.

Decades ago it was not so easy or common to get a divorce so some couples had no option to "make it work" seemingly on the outside at least

My Mam and Dad where married for 44yrs, doesnt mean either of them was happy though, I never remember a kind word being exchanged between them it was more a case of 'you have made your bed now lie in it'

Seems when we were younger divorce was not an option. Today it is called short term gratification. If the first argument does not go their way, their out. No communication.So many things have been said as to why marriages don't work, but it does however take two to tango and to make it work.

My parents were married over 45 years...they stayed together becos they were and still happy...
Everyone has rough times and i am sure they did too...but they loved each other enough and made vows to God and they kept them...
