dcj22: Patrick, don't be one of the foil hat brigade. You must take part in your own thread.

Sorry, was busy. I did have an event happen which I had meant to put up here but when I started writing about it, the damm thing near turned into a novel.

I am an extremely rational person and believe that there is a scientific explanation for everything, yet have had experiences which I can never make any sense of.

very quickly two of us together seen and spoke to a person that although there was two other people in the room, they did not see them. 20 yrs have passed and at this stage after talking to the other people several times about the incident, nobody was joking. four people and only two of us had a conversation with the fifth person in our company!

Like I said 20 yrs have passed and I am no closer to understanding what happeneddunno

jbibiza: I've posted on this before... I do believe in some sort of conscious energy, or ghost for lack of a better term. I grew up with one... he was a constant part of our lives, was quite mischieveous and a very noticeable presence, so much so that we even named him. "Alfi "enjoyed moving things around, making noises like furniture being dragged around and you would frequently catch a glimpse of something out of the corner of your eye. I found it kind of comforting when I was home alone, that he was there with me and kind of miss him now.

Poltergeist Phenomena. All that is known about this scientifically is that it seems to follow people, usually adolescent girls! Disappearing when they grow older but not always. Has proved very elusive to investigation and measurement. Probably the most interesting of all supposed supernatural phenomena! professor

dcj22: I haven't, but a friend of mine says that her grandmother still shows up in the house that was hers and that she died in. Her sister also swears that when grannie doesn't like what someone is doing there, she bangs the kitchen cabinets.

Again this is Poltergeist Activity, the most observed of "supernatural phenomena.

"Poltergeist activity tends to occur around a single person called an agent or a focus. Foci are often, but not limited to, pubescent children. Almost seventy years of research by the Rhine Research Center in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, has led to the hypothesis among parapsychologists that the "poltergeist effect" is a form of psychokinesis generated by a living human mind (that of the agent). According to researchers at the Rhine Center, the "poltergeist effect" is the outward manifestation of psychological trauma"

Thanks to Wiki again.

There is still serious research going on in this area today with several theories from electromagnetic, static, gravitational, still no answers to it though? confused

Where is that "thinking" emoticon?

wow.. seriously!!! and you weren't scared??.. I have to say.. while I would find the thought of witnessing that sort of phenomena rather exiting.. it would still scare the life out of me I think.. uh oh

I had a sort of experience in Castle Lesley in Co Monoghan in Ireland.. in one of the rooms.. reputed to be haunted (u don't have to be told which one) there is a definite eery atmosphere there and its more than just a simple drop in temperature (which there is) but a sort of 'heaviness' in the atmosphere. when I was there I definitely sensed something, although I didn't actually see anything.. also when we were boating on the lake.. the house dog who had jumped into the boat with us, went crackers when we got to the other side of the lake.. he started yelping and trying to hide himself under the wooden slat type chairs on the boat.... found out later that a family member was buried there.. under the tree.... freaky!!! uh oh

cheers

Yes. I have had several experiences with the spirit of my favorite deceased aunt. When I am troubled by something, she always shows her presence by making pennies appear no matter where I am.
Prior to her passing, she told me the spirits of the deceased who were visitng her at the bedside when I was in the room and what they were saying. She even went so far as to describe an incredible hunger and thirst that accompanied her through her process of dying as she knew would be very soon.
Also experienced the heaviness in the air in the room of her home where she passed away. When her spirit finally departed her home, the air in the room got very light. Also felt the spirit of her husband and son in her home before her passing, felt like a shudder would go through me when their spirits would walk through me. I never saw the spirits though but definitely felt the temperature changes.
My son went running out of the attic when he felt my uncle's presence up there. He had never met my uncle and yet knew someone was watching him. He was quite scared. He was 16 yrs old and had never had that kind of an experience.
My aunt and uncle also made a visual and verbal contact with my next door neighbor last year, to give me a reassuring message that I should not worry about an upcoming surgery at the time and everything would turn out OK. Everything did turn out OK.
these were wonderful people in my life and I treasure the fact that they still care to be around to comfort me during my lifetime still. It is truly a blessing.

Interesting story. Some books that I have suggest that when we near death, there are spirits waiting for us to help us with the transition out of this physical world.

My fiance' passed 3 years ago and from then on he visits from time to time. Most often he shows his presence by manipulating the flame of a candle in strange ways. He has also changed the channel on my tv and has turned it off.

The most recent was that I bought a new computer and installed new Microsoft Works software. I went to register it and when I got down to email addy....there was already an email addy in there and it was highlighted. It was my fiance's old email address.

I do believe and I know that he comes around. It is very comforting to know that he is still by my side. kiss
