whatcha gonna do... thats what its for, thinking; ... actually you know there's folks who believe christ is more of a presence as in 'spirit christ-presence', which may actually tie into your thought process on spirtual unity (oneness) as well Orla.

Rather than affixing his being with human form, one instead acknowledges a presence of christ spirit as in becoming as he taught through spiritual intervention, if indeed he existed. Whether he did or not is really quite irrelevant as long as you accept the beingness of the teachings and we won't find that unless we think and act more spirit than mind, because the mind generally takes us down more emotional paths, as has happened here.

The spirit lives on, the mind does not so it only makes sense to see 'you' or 'us' as more of a spiritual being than an emotional physical one and that in itself helps to understand, no accept, the perceived wrongs in the your world.

I'm not saying to ignore the physical you; but, that the real you, the real me, is one of spirit first and foremost. Its a good place to return to when the world seems to be unfair and at other times as well. Be connected, really.

Really, people are not upset for any jesus or god because of the jokes, they are upset about their own beliefs being challenged or attacked and that may not be the intent at all, though only patrick could confirm or deny intent of the OP.

So... I am going to watch Life Of Brian now, an entirely irreverant spoof about prophets and following christ figures.... hope no one is upset because its funny as heck!!!

Thats exactly what I believe Christ was.... I am not even convinced that he wanted a whole religion to emerge out of him... I think he was here as a 'spiritual intervention' as u say... to show us the way. .give us the map so to speak.. all he ever spoke of was love and compassion.. he was teaching up the simple way to find harmony... and I believe when he said the only way to God was through him... what was meant was the only way to peace was through love and compassion.. spiritual unity..... makes sense when u think about it

Just want to point out the message Jesus brought to the world. His message has been recycled among the self help-spiritual authors in today's new age.
Can't really find a reason to argue with his teachings of unconditional love, forgiveness, getting understanding, knowledge, wisdom, and to not collect your treasures via false pleasures. Don't love the world and it's evil desires.



Love the world for all the people in it that give of themselves to believe that good will triumph

Everyone seems to have come to much the same conclusion, that Christ's message was entirely about love and helping your fellow being, and I agree.
Going back to the title of this thread; The Second Coming. That's where I drift away again. Jesus is quoted as saying 'While I am in the world I am the light of the world, but soon I will be gone" (roughly) and also that He had only come for his chosen people. Relating back to my previous post, why do we think he's coming again as Jesus? And yes I think if someone was put forward as the New Messiah who we should all follow while abandoning our previous beliefs, then he would immediately be dealt with unmercifully.
Any Messiah who has come is usually the most self-effacing and humble person we could possibly imagine (therefore not me ) and if you wanted to find him you would have to search possibly for your whole life. And if you were destined to find him you couldn't possibly avoid finding him.
I have fairly specific views on this one, can you tell?
The only Messiahs/Masters/Gurus whatever, we hear about are those who have had a religion built up around their teachings after they had left this plane.
At this point I worry about being too inflammatory, but I've spent a while typing this and maybe someone will be interested.
