bajanblue: no it is in fact very fishlike, with tail and side fins. Not an eel, not a newt. A mystery...with a rather square mouth.


is it well endowed by any chance? dunno

fish need to breathe the oxygen in the water helps them do so if there are out off water for a period off time they will drown hence less off oxygen the flow off water or the filter system is faulty.

no I am not if fish are out off water for any period time as you know they will die or drown its the oxygen in the water that keeps them alive continues flow off water trough there gills produces that. As I told you before ex pat I dont smoke weed.

Hi, this creature just surfaces periodically. The rest of the time it swims with the other fishes. Mudskippers and some others spend time out of water from time to time. Just a bit of a puzzle I would enjoy solving, and my own on line searches have not turned anything up. Probably because I do not know the right questions.

Looks to me like a "walking catfish" (Clarias batrachus) it's a species of freshwater airbreathing catfish found primarily in Southeast Asia.
