I feel like moaning about what I can never find.
What I'm looking for is a lady who...

has good morals.
doesn't smoke or do drugs.
doesn't drink too much.
doesn't care where I live or who with.
doesn't care what my job status is.
likes me for ME deep down.
would look forward all day long, to walking along the beach with me, simply because it's with me.
would rather sit under the stars with me than get drunk at the local pub with a load of out of control yobs who think they're behaving normally.
doesn't have a profile photo of them doing some sort of seedy pose.
doesn't live thousands of miles away.
doesn't, during our first conversation, tell me that to lose weight I need to eat less and exercise more (duh!).

Ok so this message isn't going to help me get any contacts I suppose, but I get none anyway so I won't make it any worse, plus most people in these forums don't seem to be looking for someone anyway. :) I did get 3 contacts a month or so ago but all 3 didn't bother replying after I wrote to them. I guess I was just too nice or something, and these days all women want is someone who's loud, drinks too much, earns lots of money and is overly confident.

Where is the girl of my dreams? Oh and PLEASE don't tell me that I won't find her while I'm looking! People often say that but it just doesn't make any sense, there is no logic to that at all. With my situation as it is, I simply won't find anyone UNLESS I look.

Moan over! Hehehe.

Have a good day everyone,
Geoff.

Hi Geoff and everyone who reads this.
I just wanted to say good luck in your search, not all of us ladies are doing or liking the things that you don’t want. I don’t care for most of them but then that is just me. I wouldn’t have wanted someone who is loud and overly confident because I am quiet by nature and I’d never be able to hear myself think.
I had lots of serious reasons as to why I should never trust in men again but I have and I found him online. We married last year and I guess we are one of the computer websites success stories.
What I am trying to say in a round about way without seeming pretentious is that there is always hope and in the face of adversity it is hope that will keep you going. Don’t give it up to easily.
I told one of my dear friends that he should never give up and that his special someone was out there. He had lots of issues with confidence and the way he looked and had never had a girlfriend in his life. I found out yesterday that he is engaged and happier than he has been in a long time.
She will come along one day for you perhaps when you least expect it but as I said in the first phrase of this note good luck in your search, you never know she may find you first.

I would say that you should be prepared to accept an "imperfect" woman, otherwise you may have a very long wait.

Take your ten "wants" and be prepared to compromise on (say) three of them. You might be surprised that "imperfections" are actually attractive qualities or, when you meet the person, are not really a problem at all. Go to a pub and then head for a stroll on the sands.

Everyone has good and bad characteristics; hopefully the bad ones are not too bad at all.

Can I make another suggestion? Dump the photo with the old polo shirt!!! Definitely keep the smile, but the polo shirt looks very 1970's. Hopefully that's not too personal.

Best of luck ..... and don't give up!!!

P.S. I just took a look at the photos I have here....Oh the one you mean must be the one I use as my main photo? That's ok surely? It's the best photo I have of me, or at least the best one that's honest about how I look today. I could do what most people do and post a photo that's 5 years old where I look thinner and generally better, but I don't like to lie about my looks! I see no point in that at all. :)

I'm not exactly a flashy dresser anyway. Someone like me who's quite a bit overweight isn't able to be too fussy about what they wear. If it fits, the great, I'll buy it! Well within reason anyway. :) I just hope it doesn't put people off but as I said in my last post, if a woman is put off simply because they dislike my shirt, then that is really incredibly shallow and I'd never get on with someone like that anyway.

Geoff.

Nurses have to deal with people who are not at their best, whether patients or worried relatives, all the time. So maybe they are a bit more receptive to genuine people rather than flash ones. If they see that you obviously care for your mother, then they are likely to see you in a good light. That's a start, eh?

I'll not mention the shirt again, but stop putting yourself down. Been there, done that, and women do not find it an endearing quality.

You're not a porker - you're well rounded!

Morning TartanK. Yes I agree about nurses, and I will make sure they see my smile when I go to the hospital later! :) I did yesterday actually when I was there, but I just don't have the nerve to approach them. I wouldn't even know how.

I'm not putting myself down am I? Oh maybe I am. It's more other people who put me down though and make me feel the way I do about myself. I know that I have many good qualities and I WISH others would see them and not care about my bad points.

I tend to say I'm very cuddly these days. :) Saying porker was just a funny way to say 'fat', as I was trying to make light of it. I agree with you that women don't like it when guys put themselves down and I do try not to so much. Like I said though, it's the women (NOT ALL) who make me feel like I do in the first place. If I wasn't always being rejected I would feel so much better, because I'm generally quite happy, despite my current 'not so good' situation.

Oh that shirt. LOL. Maybe soon I'll try to take a better pic of me, in a different shirt. If you think it's that bad then others may do to. :) I'd like to think that women wouldn't be put off by such a silly thing but I guess I should give myself the best chance I can! I have other photos that I like, also on my profile, but they are older. Maybe I'll put one of them as my main photo for now though.

Have a good day mate,
Geoff.

I've also uploaded a few more photos.

Better - you can hardly see it. Put it in the bin!!! Now I'm starting to sound like my mother.

Best of luck, big fella.

PS - if you do manage to go out with a nurse and she insists on wearing her uniform, I would just go with the flow if I were you!

Personally Geoff, I love the 2nd pic in of you.
It looks like you are leaning on a wall??? With a flowerpot man hanging behind you. You look really happy in that one, and it looks so natural thumbs up

Thank you Lily. smile I just dislike my head in that one! I'm quite self-conscious about my lack of hair and in that pic it seems worse. Hmmmm...Do you think it's ok? Is it better than the main pic I have up at the moment? If you think it is, I'll change the primary one to that instead.

By the way, I'm leaning up against my Dad's sauna! smile

Yes, I personally prefer the other one better but, it's what you feel more happy/comfortable with.
Oh, and regarding your hair. Most men are balding as they get older so it's nothing to be conscious of. But lol, if it does bother you a lot, shave it all off. You'd be surprised how many women are attacked to shaved heads, honestly thumbs up

Jeeez, There's Tartank who thinks he sounds like his Mother, and me who's starting to sound like your Mother laugh
I hope it doesn't appear to sound like we are trying to change who you are uh oh
It's more trying to tweak what is already there hug

I do try to have my hair kept short, but I don't think I have the nerve to chop it all off! Maybe some day. smile

No it's fine, I don't think you're trying to change me. Just giving me a little advice that's all, which I'm grateful for. I will change my main photo to that other one and see what happens. I do prefer that other one too apart from my hair anyway. smile

Thanks Dragonfly. smile

I noticed that you gave me a good score when you voted for that photo, so thanks very much for that. smile

All I can say to what you wrote is that I hope it will happen. I did think I found 'the one' for me quite recently, but I know now that I was kidding myself. It was obvious really that she wasn't interested seriously, even though she pretended she was. So that didn't help how I feel at all.
