Why Eastern European? There is 27 countries in 'Europe' as it Stands today. Why not through your question open to Europe as a whole, why exclude: Ireland, Britain, Spain, Italy, France......(if I have not mentioned everyone 'cause i'm whacked and it's 03:18cet).

And of course, vino collapso and beer.

Why limit it to Eastern Europe?..All the countries of Europe have very very wide and diverse cultures, places of interest...

I understand that a few years ago the puppet masters of the EU opened up their books invited several more countries into their club.
But why limit it to just the New members?

My country Ireland is called the Land of Saints and Scholars (I am very far from both), it has also some of the most beautiful scenery in the world..

When was the last time anybody here (myself exculded) walk the nine Glens of Antrim, stood on the shores of Donegal, had a pint of guinness in Dublin, went fishing in the Shannon...even kissed the Blarney stone (google it).

Why limit the the question to Eastern Europe..

YOu are asking the wrong person.

Because I agree with you.

However, they are talking about what they enjoy, I think you have had too much to drink. professor

And there is nothing wrong with that.

I assume the idea behind the question is Eastern Europe is not well known. Many Western Europeans (especially English) didn't want to visit Eastern Europe for various reasons. After joining EU things are dramatically changing.
Additionally is is becoming known Eastern Europe is somewhat cheaper. This attracts visitors.

I do agree there are many beautiful places around EU. All of them worth visiting.

My first choice would be Krakow, Poland, but it's central. Just amazing city with rich culture and history. Second place would be Slovenia. Been there only twice, but the nature is breath-taking.

Hmm, still a few to explore for me. Latvia’s sandy beaches are lovely, the friendship of the Polish people are great and warm. Czechia’s love for great architecture, the food of Romania and the black sea of Romania and Bulgaria. Dubrovnik and Ljubljana, the magic of a tea in a bazaar in Istanbul.

Still I do not know anything of Moldavia, Ukraine, Estonia, Belarus or many of the other countries in the east of Europe.

I prefer warm weather to cold, good food and welcoming people. Most of the places I have been living have all or close to all of this, not the north Europe of course, too cold there.

My favourite City for now is Riga for its beautiful old town, but not to live in because of the killing cold winters. Bucharest is too hot and too messy, but the parks are lovely and the food is great.

Brasov, another city in Romania is very nice but cold in the winter. (It is an alp town really).

If I knew the language I could imagine living in Istanbul, but there are many factors making me concerned.

For now, I choose Bucharest, but that is not the place to be a tourist or grow old even if the nickname "little Paris" has its reasons.

A small village down by the Adriatic Sea would probably be my choice.

But my real choice is Kandy, Sri Lanka, a bit more south east from East Europe.
