Good things don,t come easy and if they do they only stay a short while,
So the moral of this is, hard work keeps the good things with you for a long time but if you get them easy, they weren,t meant for you in the first place grin

It completely depends on how you measure success. How do any of you measure success?

"To each its own"?...the more the merrier.....don't "measure" it..To me: just having a comfortable life(my son included)...and do what I want when I want...and feel good about myself...That's pretty much in a nutshell..to be content and feeling that I'd succeeded in this life.

Ok so you're all going to jump at me, and tell me to piss off, but don't any of you believe in luck?
If two guys did the same job diligently side by side, got the same pay, but one just won the lottery, which allowed him to study and make it to the top, what do you call this? Being struck down by lightening?????

What do you call the case of two guys, both clever, one living in a country without opportunities and the other one in a country full of opportunities? Who has the bigger chance of living a successful and comfortable life?
No prizes for guessing.

Some people seem to attract good fortune - who knows how this can happen, but somehow it does!

Many successful people claim they have 'just been lucky' but they have worked very hard.

I really do believe it's a mental attitude.

Some people work hard all their lives but they believe honestly that they'll never succeed in life and it's a self-fulfilling prophesy.

Some guy or woman can be born in a poor country and have no education but just KNOW in their hearts that they shall succeed. Somehow, maybe as an illegal migrant, they manage to get to some land of plenty - some land of milk and honey.......and the milk and honey flows for them.

Yes, I do believe in luck and i do believe in karma and I do believe that you can make your karma good and hit the jackpot of luck if you honestly believe you're lucky!

thumbs up grin

Twin sons were born to a poverty stricken couple.

One of the twins became a successful businessman with everything money could buy, a good wife and happy family. When asked for the reason for his success his reply was " I came from a poverty stricken home and aspired to better myself".

The other twin was a down -and -out hobo/alcoholic living on the streets. Asked about why he became like this, his reply was "I came from a poverty stricken home, what else was there for me to do?"

Life is full of choices .. the choice is up to us.

Very similar to the story about the shoe manufacturer with two sons. He sends them both to Africa to assess the possibility of setting up business there. One son returns and says "father, forget it,nobody wears shoes over there." The other son says "father,it,s a fantastic opportunity, nobody wears shoes over there." I suppose where one sees disaster another sees opportunity.thumbs up

Yeah Elley. I had this old friend in SA with a huge house and lovely landscaped grounds. It was an old condemned chicken farm she had bought cheap cause nobody wanted it - it stank - the house had had hobos living in it, the grass lawns were window height! About 2yrs later she said to me that people keep calling her lucky cause she bought it so cheap, and she was pissed off! "Funny, hey, the harder I work, the luckier I seem to get!"

I also hafd a buddfy scrapyard owner who suffered terribly from thieving, so he put up a sign which read.....

" The next time I catch anyone thieving from me please be aware I will not be calling the police. I will simply cut off all your grubby little fingers and shove them one by one right up your dirty little backside"

Thieving stopped, though he himself got a visit from the law and was ordered to remove the sign as it was deemed offensive.rolling on the floor laughing
