Sadly the only way not to want more stuff than you already have is to

1 - have no friends, neighbours and family
2- to live alone at away from everyone-
3- Not to own a TV
4 - To be Blind

Its in our nature we always want more than we have and god damn banks and credit card companies make it way too simple for us to get into debt.

meditation is good, focus within and not on what what we can acquire, i like a bit of both, the philosophy that is you lost everything in the morning you would still survive and it would all be o.k.

it happens in the world each year, china this year, the floods usa - natural disaster, war -

it happens and then all people have is what they are standing in !!!!

People survive, pick up the pieces and move on.

not really....

I don't like being a sheep so I don't like buying things when they're in fashion. Sadly though, the choice available here is very limited, if green is in vogue, everything is in green! so unless I actually need something, I don't buy it.

I saw some wonderful shops in the uk where I found very beautiful clothes.... all different...

and no, if my neighbour buys a new sofa, tv or whatever, I don't copy cat.

Fortunately for me .... my brain cannot absorb too much new information, so I keep my life simple... or try to.

I bought an MP3 player for running - and then found out it aint so easy to "just download" some music, its easier to run without music than it is to try and figure all that out!

My mobile phone is basic - for sending sms`s or phone calls. My grandson bought the latest .... now he can do Everything with it, photos/videos/ fax/log-in-send emails/download music/play/send music ... but he cant send or receive phone calls or sms`s! rolling on the floor laughing (:Grannys evil laugh emoticon:)

One should always keep up with latest fashions, to a degree ...... to dress modern keeps one young looking! but fashion clothes can be cheapies. Basics should be the Very Best Quality. Like jewellery - one should have a few good pieces in gold/silver/diamonds - then you mix them with cheap good looking stuff .... IMHO anyway.cheers

Nope!!!

If it aint broke don't fix it or dump it!!! laugh ... to my kids dismay and exasperation!!!

Love clothes and shoes though and have loads but some of them I've had since my kids were babies or before... And skinny jeans have come back into fashion and mine from back then still fit me!!!!! banana

Style and fashion are totally different things so if I buy something new and "fashionable" I still wear it "my way" ...

Don't own a credit card and won't buy anything unless I have the money ... except from when buying a car for which I would make a loan ...

For me debt free = stress free. I can't stand to have money worries ... or be overdrawn or to owe someone money ...
