StressFree: Great point Portiea! Negative energy comes in many forms....Needy people are dependent and think the world is against them cause nothing goes right.
Then we have the control freaks who are angry and negative with themselves so they make themselves feel better by putting other people down and just creating a harsh environment because of their ego's, sense of control, and their lack of inner peace.

Portiea: There seem to be two things that people are talking about....I'm not sure, but this is my take on it...correct me if I am wrong...
One is people who are feeling depressed and negative and appear very needy...needing positive support, always seeing the cup half full, finding fault with everything, etc.
The other is people who create negative around them...they see and feel negative and create negative situations by pitting people against each other, maybe bullying, creating problems where none existed, aruging with people, etc.
Or maybe it's a combination, or maybe it is all one and the same???

Hugz_n_Kissez: People like that drive me nuts....I try to stay positive as much as I can...BUT sure we can all be negative sometime...It's the ones who the same time next year will have all the same problems and it's because of everone else...NOT themselves that drive me up the wall....I find it very hard to be around negativity because constant doses of it drive me insane!!!!!!!!!!

Hugz_n_Kissez: Yes I do in fact....I had a friend who was like that and I haven't talked to her in 2 years or more because if I went there today...it would be the same things she was droning on about the last time I saw her....I would feel just zapped coming out of her place because no matter how much good advice I gave her...she would never do anything about it...including about herself!!!!!!!!!So the time came for me to stop listening and get out of her personal drama!!!!!!!!!!

When I used to still go to my mothers it was always the same "poor me" type stuff. I could seriously feel the negativity in the friggin air when I walked in there. I eventually had to stop talking to her, it was just too much. It made me physically ill to see her anymore.

Portiea: What also gets me is the people who have so much negative energy...they aren't just down all the time and needy, they are stiring things up, always waging some kind of war, getting even with people they don't like, always have someone they don't like, always just trying to manipulate reality, even when it is someone else's reality...there is a person like that where I'm working...she seems to go after one person after another, if she decides they have offended here or she doesn't like them for some reason, she gossips and causes trouble, etc. Just sends out endless negative energy...

My take is the whole planet well western world is on a downward spiral?Seems to me people want everything.And well we are all gonna have a big shift......very soon.So we will all need some posative energy to deal with the situation.It will be hard for most well those caught up in the mind.Things one think one needs ....Recession then comes Depression........so .Ive read worse than the 1930 s????So to me a lot of posative is gonna be needed.To get through this.Wont be just our needs and wants will be so much greater.

Portiea: Well, you point is taken.... I guess if we complain about the negativity we are also being negative.....I started this thread with the idea of a specific type of behavior. While all of us may tend to be negative from time to time, there is a 'type' who seems to hang on to the negative,and that is what I have in mind when I say negative energy.
Like the woman at my job. All year long she has been a 'stirer'.....attacking people, gossiping about them, and spreading negativity around the place day after day...she focuses on certain people and manufactures major issues out of nothing, and puts the other person in a negative light. She goes to the owner of the company and tells him everything she can think of that might be negative about the people she works with, and because they are personal friends, he listens. So, she spreads this negativity far and wide. People are afraid to talk to her or talk in her presence. She succeeds in turning a normal work place into a place of gloom and wariness. When she is not around, people are happy and free.
So, that to me is negative energy. Most people are not like this, though at times they may be energy.....Some people seem to be nothing but negative....

If she is really doing what you say and it's not a matter of perception, why don't you all join forces to set her up and play her at her own game?
Example: all discuss within earshot of her something like one of your colleagues (decide between yourselves which one) is just soooooooooooooooo not going to be ready for a deadline (for instance) and talk (still within earshot of the stirrer) about examples of things that haven't been done yet when they should etc. The person who is allegedly not gonna be ready for deadline could also be overheard saying he/she hasn't had time to do whatever ... Stirrer person is gonna run to the boss to warn him that "things aren't getting done" and boss is gonna go and check (coz he's the boss). He's going to find that all the "reports" from his friend are false and she was talking a lot of drivel. Hopefully after that he will take everything she says with a pinch of salt!!!
