Family and Friends—

It is said that you can’t choose your family, but you can choose your friends.

In your experience, which has been most important and valuable to you in life, your family or your friends?

Or has it been pretty equal?

Although my family has always been most important and valuable to me we've never been close for some reason. For the most part there's way to much competition.

I'm not going to bore anyone here with the details cause I've learned to live with that situation and won't cry in my beer so to speak. They have their lives I have mine.

I have two choices I can either feel sorry for myself and Boo Hoo about it or enjoy my friends who have become very important to me. I'd much rather enjoy my firends.

For further details, lets privatewink

But i think it all has to do with family conception. When i have an aunt here which is my mother's cousin, he told me that was not an auntshock well, there can be strong connections with cousins and cousins cousins...so, are they friends? Not to me.
I remember meeting new members almost everyday at home, mostly at lunch time, when we had to extend the table. That was annoying

laugh

Anyway, i like it restricted...handshake

Good, one for the family...though mine was a mess, I like to think there are families that really bring joy and a sense of security into some people's lives.!!applause

Although people in my family have been wonderful, I tend to lean more on my friends. They're ALWAYS there for me. But then, so is my daughter... usually.

Right now, my brother & sister won't even talk to me because I bought my house. I guess they're jealous. Neither one works. I have POA for my father & they think I used his money to get my place. Of course, they never said a word to me... my sister laid into my daughter, who stuck up for me, as did my stepfather. My sister had a birthday party for 2 of her kids this past weekend & never invited me. If she'd said something to me, I could've shown her bank statements!

Friends.

Have a wonderful blood family. Very close knit situation as is still quite strong locally, but......

different wavelenght.

EXTENDED family on the other hand, friends which have grown beyond the frienship ties, is one that is more important then anything else to me. They are the ones who you grow to trust, love and worry about.

More then the normal blood raltionships that may be taken for granted.

Is this not typical family crap? Why do they want to think the worst of you (I mean you in a general sense ---my family always attached the most negative motives to everything I did...)
