I had seen the video some months ago.... extremely good.... highly recommended....
But I don't remember thinking it applied only to the US....
You and I live in countries where it's equally easy to get a radio for $3.00....
The US, Europe, alot of Asia, Canada, Australia.... same thing when sat opposite 3rd (oops!! I mean "developing"
) world 
Extremely depressing message...consumerism, capitalism and western culture (same thing really..) is like a huge supertanker....because it's based on greed and need, it's basically unstoppable....I believe that as small civilzations or communities crashed and disappeared in places like Easter Island, and Mesa Verde.....so too will human beings consume and pollute themselves out of existence....it's not going to be pretty...
....I was thinking of becoming a monk.....now I think I'll become an environmental activist instead.......!!

I try not to buy things unless I need them, I don't throw for the sake of throwing, I'm a keeper so I'd rather fix than get a new one.

Personnaly I don't like waste ... I try to recycle most unwanted things by giving them to charity or to someone who needs it or turning it into something else. + I tend not to replace "stuff" unless it's broken and/or no longer performs the function it was intended for ... (to my kids horror!!!!! hahahahaha!)

It's wonderful to be back!!!!! As for spending a week with my kis and grandkids and seeing my old friends, it was great!!! My 2 little grandsons are wonderful, I got loads of hugs while they repeated over and over "MY nanny"!!!!!
Was great with my 2 kids too!!!!! Me living away has moved our relationship onto a different level of love and appreciation, as it has removed the "taking for granted" element!!! Great feelings all round!!
