pianolover: I would like to start a long distance dating, I want to know someone who is living on the other side of the world online, and then get to know him better. Would you please tell me the ways of getting to know him better but emails and phone calls?
Emailing..chatting,,,phone calls,,,if you know a mutual language that is a big plus. Be honest, yet don't sacrifice more than you would normally, let him get to know you. Pray he will also be honest and straight forward. Remember that as much as you do get to know someone through the internet, the phone, chatting, etc. ...you will meet the person in the flesh, then things can change rapidly, they can also be just what you thought. Long distance is putting another variable into the equation, so to speak. Some obstacles may be greater than the oceans and all the customs you can imagine..which btw is another thing,,,learn the traditions that person was raised in,,even if they dont adhere to them, they may still be thinking about those things and even judging you by the way they were treated and brought up as a child. Long Distance does make all these things a bit more challenging. Ask yourself why you want to meet someone far away. Good luck, I hope you find that magic feeling. ;-}

personally speaking I think relationships are difficult (but possible) enough without throwing distance into the equation..
on saying that, if I thought there was REALLY something there I would want to meet in person asap and on doing so if there was still something going on then I would think it wise for either one involved to relocate in order to give the relationship all the chances possible for healthy and long lasting development...ie happy ever after (hopefully, but think most realise at this stage nothing written in stone)

Join one of the companies in the harbour, head for the sea a few months and Voila! you hit a distant shore.
