I have a friend I guess friends, that had a not so important object stolen from there home. They had a real good idea who had taken it. They reported it to the police. The police checked into it and indeed found it in the the home of who they expected had taken it. When those people were questioned they had said it was left at there home for over a month. The police returned and questioned the ones who reported it missing. They had supplied names of quite a few people who had known and seen that it was infact not left at the others home. 7 people signed statements that they had seen it as well as played it in the last few days, The item in question is a rockstar game system. All of the people who has signed statements were arrested for making a false statement. Then to make matters even worse they were all badgerd, threatend and tricked into signing another statement that they had lied and not seen the game system at all.
I know for a FACT that the game system was there, as I had seen it just 3 days before it had come up missing. They were all hauled into court before a judge who had saw fit to place an order of protection against the the people charged.
All of these people who are facing the charges have gotten a very good lawyer, and have pleaded innocent! and have requested a trial.
The investigator who was in charge had saw fit to threaten the ones who had kids that unless they signed a statement stating they lied would go to jail for a min. of 6 months and would no doubt loose there kids. There was an older man there neighbor who had originally stated he was at there home and had seen the game on a certian date. the only thing he agreed to was that he might have been wrong about the date he saw it by a day or two. He was charged on that fact alone. Then was given a court date and time when there was no court being held. One was dislexic and could not read what the investigator wrote, he had told them his condition and did not want to sign anything he could not read, he was told to shut up and sign it or he would be locked up right then! The one who called the police suffers from anxiety disorder and is a severe bipolar. And was told she could get off easier then the rest as she could claim insanity, Though no one had told this investigator about her condition, and the only one who knew she was being treated was the one who had the game found in her home. And she knew as she is a nurse in the dotors office where she is being treated. (wich I feel is a heppa law breech as well) All of the people who have been charged have had there name in the paper, and for some strange reason as stupid as this all sounds they found this story printed on the front page of the local newspaper.
I have no clue as to why the investigator has chose to make this into something it is not! but even the state police officer who was present at all the questioning is baffled at the way he conducted himself and his line of questioning.
What I do not understand is how 7 people can come forward and state they saw the game system and be arrested and treated so harshly, while 2 people who were found in possesion of the game can be taken at there word and no questions asked. I had seen this game just a few days before it was missing, and 4 new people besides myself have also come forward to testify they also had seen the game.
I beleive this is an injustice, and a real waste of tax payers money. Not to mention a violation of rights.

I use to be very proud of my country, There was a time I really thought we had something good, and I still believe we did. But now I can't agree with most of it's actions be it in a small court or on the highest levels.
I think the ones who have any power at all are watching to much TV and it's all turning there brains to mush!

What's that Garth Brooks song, "friends in low places?" I've got a couple of ex cop friends who got fed up with the corruption impeding their job and quit, one of whom is quite well off now because it's hard to find honesty these days.

I really think that it scares me that people who have authority in this country a good part of them seem to let it go to there heads. and it seems to erase there ability to use reason. A study was done once a while ago that when a person was given a power or control over another they were more at to flaunt it and use it to the exteme. And the more they got the more they wanted and would they them selves get out of control.
I have thought about this in this situation, and I really think that in this area anyway that these so called law inforcement really could not handle a bigger situation I don't believe they even know what they are doing, So when it comes to something like this they turn the situation into a bad episode of dragnet or something.

My parents had a similar thing happen to them. In their case it was a 1,000$ plus saw that my dad used for work. We Knew who took it and why ( to sale for drugs - maybe $100 worth). We even reported it, but without a registration number and any other info, we were s.o.l. .

This same person was seen later waving a gun in a home with at least a dozen minors, but nothing has happened to them because they can give names of other users or cookers. What a joke. very mad

It really bothers me, that I could have a neighbor who was a drug dealer, and he shot his girlfriend in the face with a 22 let her sit there for three days before she was taken for medical help. 6 months later he shot my dog with the same gun, and nothing was really ever done. He was given a conditional discharge for shooting his girlfriend. and nothing for shooting the dog. Now someone who is victomized is charged and publicly disgraced, not to mention could serve time in jail. Where is it right that the one who does wrong is the only one who does not get hurt?

Any more I place my faith in Karma. People really do have the their actions come back on them. Though it may take time. Sometimes our problem is waiting for natural justice to occur.

Though, it feels better to speed it up and just shove them down a flight of stairs doesn't it. devil

Or shoot them in the face with a .22 since that seems to be acceptable.

They new there was no one home, and as far as anyone can tell they went in thru a bedroom window.
The reason they did not go up and take it back was we are talking about honest people. They really thought they were doing the right thing by turning it over to the police. Who would have thought they would get arrested?

I am hoping that this lawyer they have does what she says she wants to do. That is first show that injustice was done! 2nd get everyone found innocent, 3rd make this investigator answer for his actions. 4th force them to bring the real criminals in this to justice. And 5th bring it all out in the publics eye so that the police and justice system at least in this area will have to work the way it is supose to work, not the way they want it to work.

The police in America do exactly what they want and are protected, and allowed to do it. A right wing supreme courts sides with them in removing civil liberties from citizens

IT is not just the police it goes on down the line, judges, cps, government officials, and movie stars. They all think they are above the law. It sounds to me like theses cops used nothing but scare tactics and those people. And they fell for it.
They also use these tactics to pin different crimes on who ever they want. Never say or sign anything without a lawyer. I have 2 lawyers in my family.
