guiriman: I don't understand. different languages have different letters - how could the keyboards be the same?

Within the Roman alphabet we have the same letters but with some add-ons, like in France they have this ^ above the o = ô. Still the same but to make it more accessible considering the number of words using them they reordered the keyboard in a number of layouts. Most build on the qwerty (the first six letters on the upper left).

The keyboard really holds a lot more hidden characters like ¦+++. I do not know if they print here, but hold Alt down while entering 199 on the keyboard and you see.

undstand that but in the french lang..there is 26 letters in the alphabet...in the same order as the english language..so why not have them designed the same way( keyboards)...it can be confusing going from qwerty to azerty...grammer mistakes etc....

I can not answer that, but they made a point at the Wiki about the left hand having thousands of words to write with that hand only but only in the hundreds for the right hand only.

Too late to change that now I think.

well QWERTY layouts were actually designed to slow down the write because at this time typewriters were only able to handle a certain speed o typing (mechanical issues). In Germany the y is switched to a z, the reason why and why the French people have their layout is the differenty vocabulary. These letters are more important for the words they use in their daily language. Since German is closer to English than French it is easy see why the layout are so close.

Well I am still on the student side of teaching, but I sometimes supervise exams, quite some fun what the students ask me. They start cheating once you turn your head....

Fantastic.

Well done Immanuelle.

I teach part time at the AIS- Salzburg.

So, whilst I run various other projects, I am part of the faculty there.

Elley should be here to do this.

I teach English language to Grade 7/8

Who are away from their parents and boarding.
