People with severe illness/disability have to struggle against their state of health AND the judgmental environment. And if they nevertheless keep their mood up, don’t surrender, are looking for a date, for a partner, for some joy, that signifies that they have a lot of courage.

And I find brave men attractive.

Now, there are people who left their partner/spouse, or their child, because the partner/spouse (child) became ill/disable.

Would you date these people?

BnaturAl: We have had a lot of the 'would you date' threads, whellchairs, paraplegics, nasal obstructions, older/younger...so ... would you date someone who was terminal, for discussion's sake .. say 5 to 10 years left..
hmmmmmmm interesting I would say yes.I think that if you know you only have a limited time that you would want to make the very best of it and for some reason if I knew how long I had to live I would just be sooooooooo wild and crazy foot loose and fancy free devil makes me wonder also why not start now
I do have a limited time hmmm

Its still pretty much the same thing I think, there are some people who detach emotionally in a more immediate way to keep the 'feelings' away, while others see it entirely different and a way to experience life.

Actually emotional detachment is quite common in most relationships. I did it when I first learned my father was terminal, until I realized what I was doing. Had I not realised it I would have missedsome of the greatest moments of my life with him. But there are people who for whatever reason dont, wont or cant see it.

I think the CS designation should stand for Couch Symposium. It seems CS has more than it's share of shrinks. There must be more degrees here than anywhere in one place
