This pulled at my heartstrings.

TeArawa: Grief is like a mighty ocean
In the midst of a raging storm
Merciless waves of pain unleashed
No sign of loving reform
It is like the fog of depression
That threatens to never lift.
Akin to the clouds of despair
Which sent my joy adrift
The pain did threaten to burst
In to a torrential flood of tears
A depth of sorrow with no end
Or so it seemed in my fears
But just as nature has cycles,
So too did my emotional state
Lurking in the shadows of grief
Happiness did patiently wait
For the mighty ocean to quieten
And emit new waves of love
To subtly caress my tortured mind
And heal my pain thereof
Clouds of despair did dissipate
Revealing magical rays of peace.
Dense fog then lifted accordingly
Giving grief its final release
Cradled by the memory of love
Etched forever in my heart
Although I lost love physically
Loves spirit did not depart
