I think I put up walls - to protect both myself and others.
I am a very passionate person, and do my best to hide the passion...... passion can move mountains, but passion can also burn people up and then their lives are never the same.
I believe I've hurt good people in the past - maybe better to avoid letting people get too close in case they get hurt.
However, I've met this fantastic person who is able to see through my insincerity and actually loves the real me below all the surface crap.
She's really wonderful and makes me feel very secure and good about both the present and the future. She cares, but is very organised and practical......... we compliment each other very well.

very interesting, but i wasn't really after a diatribe of your inability to handle passion. i just wondered what humour you saw in calling me a boring fart...or whatever it was.

People must wish to generate a reaction or they'd just send themselves emails, right?
It's not nice to either upset people or be ignored........ I've met some really decent people from CS in real life but maybe I now just feel a little 'jaded'.
My own choice, but if and when there is another CS function in Malta I feel I won't be able to go..... shame for me (in a sense), because some decent people as I've said.
I used to really enjoy some good-natured humour here amongst people who I considered friends...... that has all gone for me now.
You can have a laugh with friends, but it's not nice to make jokes at people you don't like; and once friendship is lost it seems one cannot get that 'feel good' factor back and people do tend to form groups - on the internet as in real life.
I hope you weren't in anyway offended by my previous post. Your question, as I said, was intelligent. Thank you for making me think.

no, i wasn't offended in the slightest. i was just interested - i am very interested in language.... for my part, i don't usually want to invoke a reaction from people when i post..i just give an opinion..and through sharing opinions i hope to learn...i don't think i'll ever meet the lady i'm looking for on this site, but i sure learn something new everytime i log..some things directly..others indirectly.
maybe you have a particular sense of humour..i'm not sure how well it comes across..but you believe if you don't mean harm, no harm can be done..good luck with that anyway....i myself don't really have much of a sense of humour at all... no rights or wrongs..just differences.
