One thing I've always wanted to do was to learn how to ride (operate) a motorcycle. I absolutley love riding on them. Sometimes, when I have had a particularly troubling or stressful day, I will call a friend of mine, ask him to bring his bike around and take me for a ride. There's just something about having the wind whipping against my hair, my face, my eyes....it takes all of the negative energy of my stress or problems of the moment and just frees me of it all.

AMEN for a guy with a nice bike:
Would love to go on a Breakfast Run as a Pillion rider.
Around here it's from anywhere in the Witwatersrand or Pretoria and surrounding areas to The Hartbeespoort Dam - a gorgeous place and beautiful mountains.

I did try to learn how to ride a bike but with a big bike you need need to have a lot of strenght to stop the bike from toppling over when stationery

Its the freedom, when you ride you can think of one thing and one thing only, the way ahead. A moments lapse and your eating grit. Its the coldness on a crisp winters morning, the warm breeze on a summer evening. You are more part of the journey that you are on.

And a small bike is no fun only convienient
Try again, go to a professional instructor and start on something like a honda 250, get confident and then take his advice and a good bike shops advice on the bike for you - how tall are you?
my girlfriend is 5' 10" so she can ride most bikes, ifyour a small chick get a bike where your feet reach the floor easily. Girlfriends just learning and sort of toppled off at a junction, but she worked out what she did wrong and hasnt done it since. Once your up and going your bike will want to stay uprigjt by itself, you dont have to balance as such.
kidatheart: Wow! You sound even rosier than you did with your first post in this thread.
What's so offensive about people sharing their interests like motorcycles or cars? If you don't share those interests, don't look at their profiles. I don't see how complaining about them is going to help though. In fact it makes you seem like someone who's negative and likes to complain.

Bike was a huge one and I'm only 5' 4". Will take your advise and try again during the coming spring
rosie_girl: So many of these profiles have guys and their motocycles I think I will delete the next one I see. So tired of reading about them. Isn't there one guy who does not like motorcycles? UGH!!!
I am a guy... the only way I'd ever get on one of those suicide machines, is if I'm being shot at.

Thanks for your encouragement
no problem.
5' 4", yep you will have a problem to begin with start small Honda 250, until you really get your confidence then choose something bigger but that your feet touch the ground easily with. Seats can be lowered a little if you get a good mechanic. Unless you have sat on it, riden it and felt comfortable, dont buy it.
Oh and meet other girl bikers they will encourage and support you better than a bloke - or at least thats what the other half says.

Thanks once again for your advise.
The girl bikers might be a problem where I come from - a small island with a population of about 400,000 - there are not that many of them.
