Sir Wedward ..... The new broom is frozen solid to the outside wall. I forgot to shovel the snowbank away last week, and now its about 10 below freezing and nothing outdoors can be moved till the big thaw begins.

However ... When the big thaw happens, I shall take the new broom up onto the roof and give it a try-out at the next full moon.jackolantern

Here's a straight Q....

I can't find my passports (i've two)..but I have a 'carte de séjour)..

Now I can go anywhere within mainland Europe with it no problem(or at least thats what i'm lead to believe) but when I phoned the British Embassey in Paris they told (well some snotty lady) that I need a passport....Any truth in that?

My question to you is, why have you two passports? That sounds dodgy to me. You will need a passport to travel outside of your country, you madman, you know this.

I have dual nationality..Because I was born in the Nroth of Ireland I can claim British or Irish...And in 1937 the Irish Gov. at the time made it law aand it was enshrined in the GFA(good friday agreement)....

My monster(2) have tripple Nationality because they where born here in France and my oldest can claim Israeli because on her mothers side the are Jewish(so she can claim 4)

Phoenix, an ID that is in accepted EU standard will be accepted as proof of identity in all states.. But when crossing borders they want you to produce a passport because of all the local differences with ID cards.

I have yet to hear a story of someone denied entry based on having only an ID though...

Me, I have only used passports the last 20 years.

I too have nationality, but one passport, as I was born in Ireland. But to come to Britain, I do know you will need a passport. I do and I have British citizenship.

Then you can claim with out very much difficulty an Irish Passport....But I've phoned The British, Irish and French consulate(in london) and they told me either to find my passports or buy a new one...Don't have much choice..So much for Europe..Stuff the bloody Lisbon Treaty.
