I'm still dealing with mine. We were together for nearly 2 years, but left me for someone else claiming she fell out of love w/ me.
Although it does suck, I know it'll make me stronger.
To get over it, i'm putting myself out there more, hanging with friends, making new friends, going out.

More than once, but i one of these casesi was totally crumbles to the pieces and loosed more than 2 years of my wonderful life.. 
But on the other hand even this period taught me a lot

Yes twice. Once to a guy that I was with for 3 1/2 years out of the blue he wants to call it quits because he met someone else.

Hi there! I've been in your shoes before (may be again before I leave the planet) and it really sucks.
Nothing wrong with taking some "me time" to find perspective in this situation. And when you find it, you'll also have a little more wisdom to carry you forward. Take the lesson with you, leave the heartache behind...as long as you hang on to the hurt, you give power to the one who did the deed. That's my opinion anyway...

I have had my heart broken by one girl, she was the first and last girl I have completly given my heart to. When she broke my heart it took a long time to get over it, and I can't really say I have ever completly gottan over it. It just takes time, and unfortunetly it won't be until you find the next "real" love of your life, before you can truly but it behind you.

My heart was broken for a long time after my separation and divorce. I didn't think I would ever get over it. My head was messed up for years. After doing some really crazy stuff and meeting that dreaded pivotal moment square in the face, I took myself out of the dating arena for 5 years, cleaned up my life, became a better mom and now I'm back!

I thought my heart was broken a few times as a teenager, until it happened for real. The pain was actually physical when it did happen, took 2 years till I could breath without thinking of him. will never happen again. The expression ' better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all' is crazy..better to never have loved than to feel that pain.
