I am not a short woman but I still want to date someone my height or taller because if a man is shorter I don't feel as "safe" I guess, I know thats a bit discriminatory,but thats the way I feel.

I agree with pretzelman. For me, who is 5'4", it is a sense of security. I am from the old school when men were always taller than women. It made us think he was powerful and protective.
