I am looking for a hero so what in your eyes makes one?

For me it's not the big gestures, not superman or batman, but the everyday thoughtful things.

Giving up your seat on the train for a stranger more in need than you,
opening a door, picking up something that's dropped, stopping to have a conversation with a stranger,
being aware of other people, a look, a touch, to hold and be held.
All the small everyday things that makes the world a little bit brighter!

That's my Idea of a hero so what is yours?

Would you dance
If I asked you to dance?
Would you run
And never look back?
Would you cry
If you saw me crying?
And would you save my soul, tonight?

Would you tremble
If I touched your lips?
Would you laugh?
Oh please tell me this.
Now would you die
For the one you loved?
Hold me in your arms, tonight.

I can be your hero, baby.
I can kiss away the pain.
I would stand by you forever.
You can take my breath away.

Would you swear
That you'll always be mine?
Or would you lie?
Would you run and hide?
Am I in too deep?
Have I lost my mind?
I don't care
You're here tonight.

I can be your hero, baby.
I can kiss away the pain.
I would stand by you forever.
You can take my breath away.

Oh, I just want to hold you.
I just want to hold you.
Am I in too deep?
Have I lost my mind?
I don't care
You're here tonight.

I can be your hero, baby.
I can kiss away the pain.
I will stand by your forever.
You can take my breath away.

I can be your hero.
I can kiss away the pain.
And I will stand by you forever.
You can take my breath away.
You can take my breath away.

I can be your hero.

great threadthumbs up

For me a hero is somebody who will fight for what is right no matter what the odds, somebody who will throw themselves into harms way to protect /care for others.somebody whom one would look up to for inspiration because of a good deed which they have done. somebody who doesnt care about being ridiculed when caring for a weaker being ..teddybear

People caring for elderly or inferm relatives or family members with illness or imparement....just about everything else is window dressing compared to the selflessness and commitment of the home carer...
I would also recognise everyone in the care professions, myself having more of an insight in recent times, anybody serving in the care of others, in whatever capacity, is deserving of the greatest respect and recognition...
These people are hero's to us all...

AB....thumbs up .....

IMO all the things you mentioned are simply good manners not heroic.

Heros well they are our firefighters, nurses, teachers.

the question is not gender specific but a personal opinion on what is heroic to you..... and standing up for what you feel is right in the face of bullies, physical or cyber is heroic. Nursing, fire fighting ect. is a profession to me so unless you do something extra in your job it doesn't automatically make you a hero....

So the above constitutes a hero but not someone who goes into burning buildings, cares for the sick, educates the next generation doesnt?

Have to say that odd thinking to say the least.

I used to stop and talk to strangers. Sometimes I would touch them too. The court order put a stop to that laugh
