I have noticed, being Springtime here, that there seems to be not many Bees around...? And the few I have seen, seem to be a bit "dazed" looking.......

I have heard talk that 80% of the bees have died...... and I also hear talk about them becoming confused cause they cannot find their way back to their hives .... due to the amount of mobile signals drifting around the planet.

Anyone else heard this type of talk? .... or seen the reduction in this essential Pollinating insect?

Oh...and......after becoming aware of this, I`ve also noticed that most plants bought from big plant nurseries seem to be Hybrids, which means they are sterile, and do not produce more of their kind.

Is all this some form of World Control..?.. to do, possibly, with the Genetically Modified seeds being produced?

It's just not Busy bee's....

And for are stripey friends.....

The abundance of four common species of bumblebee in the US has dropped by 96% in just the past few decades, according to the most comprehensive national census of the insects. Scientists said the alarming decline, which could have devastating implications for the pollination of both wild and farmed plants, was likely to be a result of disease and low genetic diversity in bee populations.

I heard a rumour Winnie was living at the local landfill, main lining High Fructose Corn Syrup made from Monsanto's GM corn imported from Iowa.

Poor Pooh, he just wanted to be happy, after his friends the bees were killed off.moping

At least Paddington is out of the woods (he lives off marmalade sarnies...) Second thoughts maybe not. Fruits seeds, flower thingy's need cross pollentation too, to bear fruit I guess....

What I do know (in the ins and outs, no) but when they (stripey little winged friends leave this place....)we'll be doomed.

And a lot of wasps...I think too many of them fly around...
They say, when the bees die, it will be the end of all - at least- wild flowers...moping

There was a lot of talk about the bees a couple of years ago but I haven't heard much about it lately.

I've been getting bees in my house for several weeks now and they all seem to be healthy and happy with the exception of one who was particularly upset about not being able to find his way back outside.

I've noticed both normal European honeybees and the indigenous alpine strain which is darker and thinner. The two strains interbreed as males from one hive join the mating swarm of another hive, so it's not unusual to find offspring of both types in a single hive.

I think the honeybee scare may be just one more case of artificially hyped-up global crisis, like the killer icelandic volcano, the disappearing gulf oil spill, the avian flu, the swine flu, SARS, H1N1, peak oil, etc etc etc.

Nowadays there always has to be some terrible crisis that is going to end all life on earth or people get bored and start to question things.

As for the genetically modified sterile plants, that's part of the big Monsanto conspiracy. Google "Nothing grown that we don't own" to see just how far-reaching that policy is.

Thanks Ray, "Nothing grown that we dont own" ...?...... am going to Google it.

I`m getting concerned for the future generations. Dunno why, just am. I really dont fancy having to come back here AGAIN .. and go thru the whole growing up process, might as well get going on what needs to be done while Im still here, albeit mighty aged and late in life for this goddamn nonsense!

Am beginning to pot and preserve and barter Indigenous fertile plants! Cranky huh? I think my mother is ghosting me!!!!! hahahaaaa .......

Do I really care? Nah, not really, just doing what I feel like doing, anyways ......

Usually at this time of the year, with all the wild flowers, especially here in Switzerland where they come up in the lawn grass, one has to wear sandals to not get stung by them. THIS year there are hardly any attending to the flowers.

And huge fruit trees covered in blossoms have only about 3 or 4 bees buzzing about ........dunno

A friends Apricot tree, after shedding its blossoms, has about 10 fruit!...instead of hundreds!

Bees are very important for cross pollination in many vegetable especies and their work represents lots of money but there are many chemicals sprayed to those crops, plus the seeds are coated with some bad products, etcc that the bees get killed by poisoning with those chemicals.

On the other side:
Since there is a Queen among the bees, I wonder if they are having any royal wedding as well, preparing the next to be Queen.

Excellent, thank you Phoenix!

I wonder how the Genetically Modified plants will affect Bees? .... seeing as how the GM are Hybrids and cannot be reproduced ........?... the bees gather their nectar .......how will that hybradised "nectar" affect the bees?

There's no way to really address any part of the current agricultural/health crisis without addressing Monsanto (and similar companies) and their efforts to use poorly understood and dangerous technologies to monopolize profits on agriculture all over the world. The farmers are impoverished, the consumers are poisoned, and Monsanto ends up owning the farms.

Another side of that is that the plants are modified to produce their own herbicides and pesticides. Entire species of insects are at risk to be killed off.
