Ouch, but less ouch than I thought..

I am 5'3" and I just weighed in at 13 st 2 lbs which is not good but.. I am 4 lbs lighter than I was a month ago!!

I love my ipod and I've been trying to run for one full song but I am so not used to it. Last time I was running was before my sisters wedding over a year ago so am trying to build it up!
I love bananas and fig rolls! There'll be no problem there!
Thanks for the tips, will try em out.
I feel way better for it, I totally did not want to run but now I'm back I feel fantastic!

I find that its really good to listen to my ipod when running and try to push myself for the lenght of certain upbeat tunes, running for 5 and resting for 5 is a good way to build up strenght, but my advice would be to work on the breathing, you will then find a steady pace to jog at and you will work up distance much easier. And try to eat a bananna or a couple of fig rolls half an hour before you run, its suprising what a difference it makes. Its brilliant to see you have started the ball rolling

That BMI is a complete joke, there is no way a size 12 is obese, it doesnt tak into account that muscle weighs more than fat, or bone density of the broadness on people, is a useless gauge

Checked my BMI as well and I am only 1 away from being obese. I know I need to lose weight but at a size 12 I dont think I am obese.

Morning Ladies,

Weighed myself thismorning 12 stone 12 and 5'6, and Im in shock!
Well I just did out my BMI, and I am boardering on Obesity! Thats a load of bollox, Im a size 12-14 and there is no way Im obese, I am extremly toned and muscle bound as Im a rower and I do triathalons so I think the best thing for me to do would be throw away my scales and take my measurements instead. Or maybe buy a pair of pants that are a little to tight and use them as a gauge.

Anyhoo, I still think this is a brilliant group and the support from members will have us all in our swimsuits for the summer, GOOD LUCK LADIES

Yeah I know what you mean there, the WW meals are tiny and they dont have a great selection for veggies. If anyone likes the M&S count on us range they have started to put the WW points values on the count on us meals now and Tescos do the same with some of their low/reduced fat products.

The after eights are 1/2 point each I find the chupachups are great also only 1/2 point each but its only the fruit ones you can buy them in bags of 20 for about €2.50 great for a sugar hit and keeps you busy while you're eating them.

If theres any chocolate in the house I would automatically lash it into the freezer usually give up waiting for it to defrost
or the mood has gone off me by the time it does.
If you are a chocoholic buy the little fun size bars rather than the big ones and again put them into the freezer.

I find frozen sweede a great alternative to mash potaoes.

And WW meals are handy to have in the freezer, most of them are to small to fill me though so I add some veg to make it a bigger meal.

At only 5ft 1in that way to heavy.

yea i wanna be able to walk into any shop and know something will fit me. at the moment i avoid skinny shops as i think some people look at me and say , what the heck is she doing in here,

also ladies another ww tip is if u really feel the need for something sweet , the mini creme eggs in the bag are only 1point each so pop them in the freezer and just one will do to get that craving away. also after eights are really low too. hope this helpshandshake

If you try using a smaller plate you will pile it high without feeling guilty.

Try this one:

Don't butter your toast straight away when you take it out of the toaster. Piping hot toast uses up a lot more butter than if you let it cool for a minute.

Your useful tips?

I used do this and did not feel as groggy or lethargic as i would have felt had i eaten a carb-loaded meal.

Fruit gums are great as they are sweet, last ages and a good alternative to higher cal sweets.
