Marathon

Ok..........here it goes,

Ive stopped training for the marathon, not because of lazyness, or injury but because I was invited to row in the world championships, which unfortunatly is being held in England the same weekend of the Dublin marathon. After thinking about it, well mainly thinking about all the training Id but in, ( I was up to 12 miles) I thought I can do the marathon any year or even still do one just do it somewhere else in the world ( but seemingly the Dublin marathon is one of the easiest in the world due to a very flat run,) but to be asked to row is such an honour I couldnt resist.

So my training has totally had an overhall.......
The blisters have now moved from my feet.......to my Hands and my arse cheeks, the joys of rowing.

RE: Just joined - Glad to meet you all!

welcome to you both I have mailed all the members last week to see if we can get more people posting due to the nature of the thread its not really appropriate to send invites to people for fear of offending anyone but please do pass it around the INTL and EU forums if you wish.

RE: Just joined - Glad to meet you all!

Correction: Sorry, I over stated my waist line reduction.

"my belly fat has been reduce by about 4 to 5 inches already."

Should read;

"my belly fat has been reduce by about 2.5 to 3 inches already.

Just joined - Glad to meet you all!

Hi everyone! I just joined and wanted to introduce myself.

I have dieted off and on up until about 10 years ago, that's when I sort of just gave up.

I only recently (like a month ago) found out that I have terrible food alergies. Prior to this time, I have been totally exhausted all the time and I think that is when I had given up on the dieting.

But now that I know what the problems are, I am having a terrible time trying to change it. I am not supposed to have any glutten, eggs, and sugar. This is super hard to avoid since there are at least one of these foods or bi-products of these foods in nearly everything.

I think if I could stay on track, my energy level would improve and I would also slim down. I have ordered a tape set that should help with this some, but I think group support wil also help. I will also help to support the other members, since I know how hard staying on track can be!

I had some bread product yesterday, and today I feel lethargic, congested and sort of crabby. I am mad at myself for caving in. Now I am wondering how long it will take to run it's course and wear off. I must remember this and not do it anymore!

Well, I hope to hear from you all and I know we can do it together!

Marathon

Ok, so my plan was to run friday but that thing called life got in the way, so off i trotted yesterday for a 6 mile run........... and the blisters today are a nightmare.

My poor poor feet have another age to put up with ouch!!
JustLittleMe

Marathon

Right, a little update on my training,.......I spent hours on google looking up different training programmes, and every site i went into had a a different style of training, diet, metal attitude so in the end i decided to go for one of the more relaxed training programs.

There were quite a number of sites advising sprint training and heart monitering, but to be honest I find it easier to just run............turn up the I pod and just run, I dont want to bother myself with stopping to count my heart rate, or tracing back over my ten steps with a meter stick to see how far my stride is, far to scientific for me, I just want to run.

So the programe i picked was a simple plan........run 4 times a week.........and build up your distance every week. 2 short runs, 1 medium run and 1 long run, week 1 cover 11 miles the gradually build up to 35. Its recommends to never do a run over 18 miles.

So I started on tuesday and ran 3 miles, then again on wednesday for 3 miles and Im heading out for 4 tomorrow, so it looks like my first week is going ok........only 19 more weeks to go.

Marathon

Ok, so I have decided to take on the Dublin City Marathon in October, I have never ran a marathon before ( however I did train twice before to partake, but sadly suffered with injuries beforehand) so Im here in the hope for some encouragement.

Ive just spent the last hour on google looking up training plans, gosh there is alot of different information out there, i think i will just pick one randomly and just follow it.

Ive 20 weeks to train so I should manage it.
