Q:How can I remove something I posted to the forums?
Answer
Consider what you post to be permanent. We don't allow posts to be deleted or changed because it may change the meaning of what others have said and disrupt the flow of the discussion.
Your forum entries help members learn about you. Your answers and attitudes there tell a lot about you. Consider this before you enter posts, as they cannot be removed.

Q:Who appears on my 'Who's Viewed Me' List (and who doesn't appear)?
Answer
- Members who click on your full profile page will appear on your list.
- Multiple views are recorded only once. If they view your profile several times, the view appears ONLY ONE time on View Lists
- If you delete a person from your Who's Viewed Me List, and they view your profile again, they will reappear on your List.
- If they see your profile in search results, but don't click on your full profile, they will NOT appear on your "Who's Viewed Me" list.
- If a person clicks on your profile, but has their own "Who's View Me" list turned off, they will NOT show on your "Who's Viewed Me" list.
- If they do NOT match your desired Gender and Orientation they will not show. So if you are a woman seeking men and another woman looks at your profile, she will not be on your list.
To clarify this, if you are a:
- woman seeking a man: only men seeking women will appear on your "Who's Viewed Me" list.
- man seeking a woman: only women seeking men will appear on your "Who's Viewed Me" list.
- woman seeking a woman: only women seeking women will appear on your "Who's Viewed Me" list.
- man seeking a man: only men seeking men will appear on your "Who's Viewed Me" list.

Q:My password appears in the login box whenever I visit Connecting Singles. How do I stop this?
Answer
First of all, this is your Browser, NOT Connecting Singles, that is saving your password for you and putting it into the login box on Connecting Singles. Connecting Singles has no control over this.
Fortunately you can fix this. See directions below:
If your password automatically appears in the login box, it means Password Manager is enabled on your computer. You enabled it the first time you came to Connecting Singles (or any other site), when
your browser gave you a pop-up message asking if you wanted to save your login info for this site. If you clicked yes, your username and password would automatically be entered into the login box every time you came to this site using that computer, and anyone after you could sign in as you also. This is a Browser setting and has nothing to do with this website.
You can disable that auto-login feature (see below for Firefox instructions). To protect your privacy, you should NOT use Password Manager if you share a computer with anyone else, or use a computer in a library or other public place.
If you are concerned about your password on the site, you should change it:
Click here to learn how to change your password »
Firefox: Directions for disabling auto login
Password Manager is on by default. To turn it off:
- Open the Edit menu and choose Preferences.
- From the Privacy & Security category, choose Web Passwords. (If no subcategories are visible, double-click the category to expand the list.)
- In the Password Manager section, deselect "Remember passwords for sites that require me to log in" to turn Password Manager off.
Managing Stored Passwords
To see a list of the user names and passwords you have stored:
- Open the Tasks menu, choose Privacy & Security, and then choose Password Manager.
- Select View Stored Passwords from the submenu. You see the Password Manager window.
- Click the Passwords Saved tab. You see a list of all the stored user names. (Passwords are not listed.)
- To remove a user name, click it and then click Remove. The next time you visit the web site, you will be asked to enter your password.
- Click the Passwords Never Saved tab to see a list of the web sites for which you instructed Password Manager never to store user names. To remove a web site from this list, click it and then click Remove. The next time you visit the web site, you will be asked if you want Password Manager to save the user name and password for this site. Click "No".

Q:Why did my photo get deleted?
Q:Why is my profile NOT approved yet? Is something wrong?
Answer
Profiles submitted are checked by the system and normally approved shortly after registration. Approval may be delayed if your profile requires manual attention due to your profile info not being complete or accurate. If your location, email address or profile info is not valid, if you enter gibberish, URLs or email addresses in your narratives, or if you use a proxy to access the site, your profile will be put on hold.
We believe that good relationships are built on honesty. If you register false information, your profile will not be approved, or it will be deleted without notice when found or reported.
Heavy staff workload may also cause profile approval delays.
You can

Q:Why did my photo get deleted (or get moved from being primary)?
Answer
Photos are an option, not a requirement. If you wish to have a photo with your profile, upload photos according to the rules. Photos that break the rules or are not appropriate for this site are deleted.
Remember, a picture is worth a thousand words. Your photo represents you to members who don't know you and, like it or not, you will be judged by what you choose to display. So think about what your photos 'say' about you.
PHOTO RULES:
- Your PRIMARY photo must be of YOU and show YOUR face clearly.
- Photos of celebrities, cartoons, bare torsos will be deleted.
- Nudity, vulgar, offensive, inappropiate photos will get your account deleted. Don't make us do it!
- Do NOT include CHILDREN for SAFETY reasons.
- Must reflect your true appearance.
- Must match your stated gender.
- No celebrities, models, copyrighted or altered images, cartoons, or drawings.
- No special effects or frames.
- No nudity, obscenity, sexual or offensive photos, display of weapons, or illegal activity.
- No photos in which you are, or appear to be under age 18 years.
- Tiny photos do not post well and will be deleted.
- Dark, blurry or poor quality photos will not be posted.
- Must be in .jpg format, no larger than 5 MB (megabytes).
We also accept these formats, but .jpg works best:
(.jpg, .gif, .png, .bmp, .webp, .jfif, .jpeg, .jpe, .jif, .jfi, .jxr, .tif, .tiff)
- **A nude or obscene photo will get you permanently banned from this site.

Q:Someone I was talking to disappeared from the site. Where are they?
Answer
There are several reasons why a member might disappear from the site:
- The member has been removed from the site by staff (as a result of complaints received about the member, or the member using the site for purposes other than dating: mass mailing, soliciting, requesting money from members, etc.)
- The member has hidden their profile
- The member has cancelled their profile
- If you are trying to find them via a username search, you may have misspelled their username.

Q:Can members be banned from this site?
Answer
This site has rules to protect members and their experience here. Knowing, accepting and following the rules is required for membership. It is not site staff's responsibility to warn you when you break them.
- Members who break the rules or whose behavior on the site, blogs, or forums is unacceptable may be removed without warning.
- Members who attempt to use the site for reasons other than dating (such as soliciting of ANY kind, money or romance scam, building mailing lists, identity theft, multiple or fake profiles, or any suspicious activity) will be removed without notice.
- Members under legal age will be removed.
- If the profile of someone you have been communicating with suddenly disappears, they have likely been removed for safety and quality of the site and members. No warning or notice will be sent.
Although it's common to hear a banned member complain about the rules, or that members who reported them got them banned...this is NOT true! When banning is necessary, it was the member's own bad behavior that got them banned. Members are adults and held accountable for their own actions here.

Mail may disappear for various reasons:

(as a result of complaints received about the member, or the member using the site for purposes other than dating: mass mailing, soliciting, requesting money from other members, etc. When a member gets banned, their mail automatically disappears.)
- A member's profile and mail may be deleted because they registered an email address that isn't valid and mail notices to them bounce back.

Q:I am not getting responses to the mail I sent. My mail is not being opened. What is wrong?
Answer
First, Please check your
Block Settings to see if you have restricted them too much. We've been seeing that many people are blocking all ages except for a very small few (like 34-35 for example). That can really restrict who can write to you.
We notify members when they receive onsite mail. If they have provided a valid email address, they will receive those notices; if not, they won't get the notices and it may be longer until they return to the site and see what you have sent. It is their choice to login and check their mail, and it is their choice whether or not to open or respond. We have no control over any of this.
If you are not willing to wait for a response, send mail only to members whose last activity date is recent.
If a member does not open or respond to your mail, they may not have time to answer, they may be receiving too much mail already, they may be corresponding with someone special already, or they may just not be interested in your profile. Find someone else to write to...
It takes a lot of time and patience to find someone special. Don't give up. There is someone out there for you. That person may join tomorrow.
In the meantime, give members a reason to write to you. Help others get to know you. Add positive, upbeat info to your narratives about yourself, describe more about what you are seeking in your match, add some new photos, fill out the extended profile. Also, check out the
Forums area of the site. Many members have a lot of fun meeting and talking there while waiting to meet ‘the one’.
Add a blog about your thoughts or experiences to let others know more about you and possibly attract someone who feels the same (note that a blog is a journal - not a personal ad).
