The Letter

It's pouring down outside again,I hear light taps of rain on the window pane. The clock ticking down the hours, since you left me, stranded without a care in the world.
Your letter still fresh, smeared with my tears.Your scent fills the room.
I'm wearing your white linen shirt, the one i bought you last year.
I touch my face with your silk tie.
Wondering if she helped you put it on,before you left her bed.
I alreay knew about her,but i kept trying to hold on.
I am working late you said, and you'd give a quick peck on my cheek.
Don't worry i will give you a call as soon as i can.
When all the while you were rolling around under her sheets.
That one stain of lipstick on your pinstriped collar, was lust.
Who knew it would be my best friend, someone i thought i could trust.
Half the day has gone by,no phonecall.
Why do i love you so,i ask myself time and time again.
You have called all the shots till now,i have given in.
I'm packing now,it is my turn to let go,just with your white linen shirt and tie in tow.
The end of your letter says it all,I'm leaving you my dear,do not wait for my call.
