Lush forest trees are hacked down every day, For human gain that shows me disrespect, But toxic mindsets have a price to pay, When climate change disasters take effect.
With soaring carbon gasses on the rise, My tears fall on the earth as acid rain, Loud storms on swelling oceans are my cries, Wild forest fires my raging, burning pain.
It's not too late for man to save the globe, But mankind is a greedy, selfish beast, Reluctant when there's remedies to probe, Before the population lies deceased.
The warnings that I give your world Take Heed ! My name is Mother Nature, yours is Greed.

About this poem:
Mother Nature is unsettled. Is the world in disbelief ?
I agree with your words,Mike. Nature is extremely disconcerted and fretful every and each day more and more and more. Humanity does not understand that with all their misdeeds nature becomes angry and vindictive. That is why all the natural catastrophes betide on the Earth. Keep going,M. Lovely written poem.

Hi Mick. Always loved your sonnets.. And also the wise words. You never know what comes tomorrow..I don’t know, maybe it sounds too naive, but I don’t lose faith in humanity. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. greetings. Lily
I don't know how it is in Ireland, but here the main problem is too many people coming into our country, climate is definitely taking a backseat to man's greed.
Thank you AutumnChild for your welcome comments. Thanks Lily for your kind visit and your warm words. Thanks Carlamee for your kind comments. Thank you Daradloff, Ireland also has many new immigrants.
Mankind right now is on the verge of a cliff all the way around. Destroying the earth - slaughtering fellow mankind - teetering into eternal Hell for all time. Pray for us all.
Hi! It’s a great poem, Mick<3 Very well written; nice perspective and clever rhymes, perfectly timed! It reminds me of an old song by Soundgarden, called “Hands all over” that I’ve always loved- because of the music, naturally- but, the message is poignant and ‘on point’, too. Cheers!

Mother nature is taking the revenge. I don't think greedy humankind will change their mindset.
Amen to that. During the 1930's during the Great Depression, the US Government put hundreds of thousands of unemployed workers to work planting trees. I don't understand why the governments today can't duplicate those efforts to save our planet! I suppose it's because we are all too well off to care more about ourselves than to save our planet. It's so short-sighted.
To save our planet?.. from what...?.... stupidity?.. maybe... Green house gas,.. what the f*ck is that?... who will you be in an eternity?... here to see?...reborn...............maybe.., If our world is so fragile,,,,how did it last so long?..... only now from words that say,... hey.... we are the problem... you be the visionary that can see.....again...stupidity!
Powerful well written poem, and sadly oh so true ! Thankfully some of us do care and despair …it isn’t a nice world we are living in. Bless you and all who read this. We can all do our bit however great or small to try save what we have for future generations of humans and animals . Thanks for sharing this thought provoking and hopefully motivational write

Well said. Although, we see and feel the climate change, most people are in denial.
