TIL DEATH DO US PART

THE SOUNDS OF BABIES CRYING

PIERCE MY EARLOBES AS I STROLL CASUALLY

THROUGH TEMPORARY INSANITY.

MY FEET SHUFFLE RANDOMLY

ACROSS THE TATTERED GROUND

THAT I CALL MY LIFE.

BIRDS STARE AT ME OBJECTIVELY

FROM TREETOPS, THEIR FEET SECURED TO BRANCHES

THAT LOOK LIKE THE OUTSTRETCHED ARMS OF A STRANGER

WHO POSSESSES NO DESIRE TO HELP NOR AN INCLINATION

TO HEAL.

I'M IN THE FOREST OF BEWILDERMENT.

THE AREA WHERE REALITY MEETS ABSTRACT.

I'M A LOST SOUL.

MY HEART RATE IS THAT OF A DRUG ADDICT

BUT YET MY BREATHING IS VERY RELAXED.

I AM COMFORTABLE IN MY UNCOMFORTABLE

SURROUNDINGS SIMPLY BECAUSE HERE

I CAN NOT BE JUDGED.

THIS IS THE LAND OF DA POET.

TRAPPED INSIDE MY OWN MIND.

BROKEN PROMISES FLOAT BY JUST AS MY

DREAMS AND ASPIRATIONS

BURY THEMSELVES DEEP WITHIN THE SOIL.

I CARRY THE GIFT AND THE CURSE.

I AM NEITHER HERE NOR THERE.

THE WORLD GROWS DARK SIMPLY BECAUSE I BLINKED.

THERE IS NO ESCAPE FOR ME.

TO LEAVE HERE WOULD BE TO LOSE LIFE.

I'M A VICTIM OF MY OWN TURMOIL.

A HOSTAGE TO MY OWN THOUGHTS.

IN CAPTIVITY I AM AS THE CAGED LION.

A STRONG FIERCE OPPONENT ON THE OUTSIDE

BUT A BROKEN SPIRIT INSIDE.

MY MIND WILL NEVER RELEASE ME.

TOGETHER WE SHALL HAVE A LIFE SENTENCE.

DEATH SHALL BE MY ONLY PAROLE.
