Hi Soquiliquay
It's weird how these kamikazi critters seem to almost relish instant anihilation - in this neck of the woods it's slugs and snails that indulge in their collective death wish.
That horrible scrunch of snails shells underfoot in the pitch dark is just as nauseating as your unwanted slaughter of the worms.
Best wishes

Hey there soquiliquay!
Great portrayal of something many of us have experienced but few have ever thought of being poetic about!! "Oh that slippery feeling under foot that develops after another burst of worm germ takes place!" I should have seen the poor creature! "OOPS! - There goes ANOTHER ONE!" I think I'm going to....
Thanks for the smiles on this one!! And Mr. Fellsman.... I know too what you mean about the slugs!! Here in Oregon, we have what are called 'Banana Slugs'.... Some of them are nearly as big as a banana let me tell you! Here, you don't squish the slugs, you trip over them! (and hope there's not another where your face lands!)
I remember slugs too...yuk! Maybe you walking at night and stepping on a few of them is like some kind of population control?? You're helping the ecosystem...good poem
