When I feel alone and
forsaken, and hang my
head and sigh
When the mirror catches
a wistful tear under this
wrinkled eye

beyond a hill to steep for

that happier life which

When the laughter of children
reminds me of me when I was
full of life and hope

and tommorow seems like fading
grass
When the harder I run to catch
my future I'm dragged deeper
into my past
When the seasons change under
these darkened skys and a new
flower has sprung
When I wonder what my life has
meant under this firey sun
When the millions that have gone
before me lie silent in the dust
When I wonder if the good they've
done has been held in a sacred
trust
When the beauty of all creation
has intoxicated my imagination
When I wonder if I'll remember
those stars that fortold my
destination
When God has fought the last battle
for the hearts and minds of men
When I wonder if these words I write
shall live and breathe again
When all the trouble between heaven
and earth has been called into account
When the warriors and the peacemakers
have been paid in full amount
When my feeble thoughts are compelled
to kneel to the truth that shall never
fall
Then shall I see my maker face to face
as the greatest wonder of all~
