Stone Cold Eyes

Stone Cold Eyes

I was alone seeing through stone cold eyes

The poison loneliness through my veins flies

My heart bound by the invisible chains of lonely

Straining to have a happy face, the image a phony

Searing pain burns, how can I know any pleasure

The agonies of solitude beyond any humans measure

No comforts come speaking to calm my aching heart

Dire distress is endless consuming every last part

Love invades my mind but never it's warmth in my arms

Yearning and searching the world to know it's charms

But with just a blink and again I'm that lonely guy

The one all alone with the look of cold stone in his eye

About this poem:
Everyone has felt like this at some point I think. I hope I did justice to this sordid existence.

Thanks I was trying. It's nice to see others think I got what I worked so hard to capture.

I tried for all I was worth to make this poem speak to loneliness, seems I did. It's nice to see such a talented woman see that.lips
