What Jesus really meant

If I turn water into wine
I do not mean to insult
you with a cheap magicians
trick, but to give you hope
that within my hands I hold
the true power of life's
celebration~
If I walk on water I hoped
you'd catch me smiling as
I give you courage not to
fear the storm~
When I said, 'Is not life
more than meat, is not the
gift of life more precious
than the choicest gold?'~
If I've healed the sick, have
you not seen wherein your true
healing lay?~
If I have raised the dead, is
this any more marvelous than
the yellow rose of Sharron?~
If I have suffered mockery,
persecution, and death for you,
have I not declared your worth
beyond all the stars of heaven?~
If I am just a dead man on a
stick, then where is your hope
in the land of the living?~
If I said, 'I am the way, the truth,
and the life, then how my friend have
you found hope in another?'~
If I can create loaves and fishes
out of nothing then who do you
serve that can do more?~
If I said, 'He who believes in me
shall never die, then where else
have you wandered to find the words
of life?~
Men will disappoint, but as I told
you before I will say again..
He who believes in me shall never
be put to shame~

Hi Cafe

An extremely succinct proclamation of your faith. When I was serving in the Royal Air Force, I recall a Padre ending a sermon with the following words: "There are no athiests on the battle field."

A moving write...

I always wondered why people who actually saw the miracles God and Christ performed took them for granted or forgot altogether moments later and went on living unrighteous life! Perhaps it is in the nature of men who have disappointed and continue to disappoint. Wandering blindfold they are in the dark when light is shining so invitingly, so near! Thank you for your reminder!hug bouquet

Those that walk in faith and in the light will know God's everlasting love in the kingdom of heaven forever and ever. Amen.

Every day as I step out my front door, I'm greeted by God's majesty- the beautiful morning, the coo of a mourning dove, the bawl of a hungry calf, the whinny of a tiny colt. Each one a miracle. :-) I've often prayed for those who do not know God to seek HIM and find peace.

Beautiful words of faith, Dear Jim. angel hug heart wings teddybear

I enjoyed reading this one Cafe, I also look forward to reading the gospel of Judas, who is in the process of being forgiven by the church and it will be the oldest one, only 300 years after the death of Christ, I believe. It should provide some interesting insights when it is published at last, I think it may provide some pleasant surprises.......Nice work my friend....Andrew... cool

Thanks Andrew.. They've shown excerpts of many of these psudo-gospels on the history channel from time to time. And from the little they've quoted from these 'missing gosples' they immediately strike one as entirely whimsical and wholly out of character of the times and of the simple message of the gospel. The highly respected historian Josepheus who was a general in the Jewish wars was an eye witness to the endless stream of false messiahs that Jesus predicted would arise. Josepheus said, 'that false messiahs were abounding every week, as well as scores of letters from people claiming to be an apostle. The Romans were crushing these 'hopeful' messiahs constantly as one can read in his Antiquity of the Jews. The book if published will make yet one more Hollywood producer rich for the masses who are itching for a new slant on the gospel (be it true or false). And it would provide fuel for all the gainsayers searching for any semblance of supposed fact to discredit the gospel even in the face of over whelming evidence against it.

Bringing back for Holy Week and Easter as Cafe Jim will be celebrating Easter with His Lord and Savior in Heaven this year. A truer gentleman and Christian I have yet to meet. You were and still are a true beacon of love and faith to our Lord.
